Configuració

1. Desembalatge: Carefully remove all packaging materials and dispose of them responsibly. Ensure all components are present: coffeemaker unit, glass carafe, permanent gold tone filter, and water filter.
2. Neteja inicial: Before first use, wash the carafe, carafe lid, and permanent gold tone filter in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly. Wipe the exterior of the coffeemaker with a damp tela.
3. Primer cicle d'elaboració (netja): Fill the water reservoir with fresh cold water to the 12-cup mark. Place the empty permanent gold tone filter in the filter holder. Run a full brewing cycle without coffee grounds. Discard the water. This cleans the internal components.
4. Instal·lació del filtre d'aigua: The coffeemaker includes a vegetable-based water filter designed to remove chlorine from tap water. Follow the instructions provided with the filter for proper installation into the water reservoir. Replace the filter as recommended by the manufacturer.
5. Col·locació: Place the coffeemaker on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the counter and out of reach of children. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.

Elaboració de cafè

1. Omplir el dipòsit d'aigua: Open the lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water using the carafe. Refer to the magnified water-level window for accurate measurement. Do not exceed the 12-cup maximum fill line.
2. Afegeix el marc de cafè: Place the permanent gold tone filter into the filter holder. Add your desired amount of ground coffee. For optimal flavor, use approximately one tablespoon of coffee per cup, adjusting to personal preference.
3. Selecciona la intensitat de la infusió: The electronic control panel allows you to choose from three brewing-cycle options:
   • Full-flavored: For brewing up to three 5-ounce cups of strong coffee.
   • Medium-strength: For 4-12 cups of standard coffee.
   • Fort: For 4-12 cups of robust coffee.
   Select your desired strength using the appropriate button on the control panel. The Deep-Brew system pulses hot water through the grounds at precisely timed intervals for optimum flavor extraction.

Manteniment

Neteja diària

• Gerra i tapa: After each use, wash the glass carafe and its lid in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. The carafe is not dishwasher safe.

Descalcificant

Over time, mineral deposits (calcification) can build up in your coffeemaker, affecting performance and coffee taste. The KRUPS 453-4C features an electronic warning to indicate when decalcifying is needed. Although residual water is removed when brewing is complete to minimize calcification, regular decalcification is important.

1. Prepare Decalcifying Solution: Mix a solution of white vinegar and water (e.g., 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water) or use a commercial decalcifying agent specifically designed for coffeemakers. Refer to the product's instructions for exact ratios.
2. Run Decalcifying Cycle: Pour the solution into the water reservoir. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate. Run a full brewing cycle.
3. Cicles d'esbandida: After the decalcifying cycle is complete, discard the solution. Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water and run two to three full brewing cycles with only water to thoroughly rinse the coffeemaker.

Nota: Replacement water filters can be ordered separately to maintain water quality.
