3. Instruccions d'instal·lació

Careful installation is crucial for optimal performance and safety. The overgrips are designed to fit over existing 22mm (7/8") handlebar grips.

  1. Preparació del manillar: Ensure your motorcycle's handlebars are clean and free from debris. If installing on the throttle side, some existing throttle tube ridges may need to be sanded down for a smooth fit.
  2. Dry Fit Overgrips: Before applying adhesive, dry-fit both heated overgrips onto the handlebars. Ensure they slide on smoothly and that the wiring exits in a position that does not interfere with controls (e.g., clutch lever) or restrict throttle movement. For the throttle side, verify that the throttle can achieve a full range of motion without binding or stretching the overgrip's wire. Mark the desired final position.
  3. Aplicar adhesiu: Apply a small amount of the provided adhesive (or a suitable alternative, such as super glue) to the inside surface of the overgrip, particularly towards the inner end. The adhesive is typically runny and sets quickly, so work efficiently. Place a rag underneath to catch any drips.
  4. Install Overgrips: Slide the overgrips onto the handlebars quickly and firmly to the marked position. Once in place, avoid making adjustments as the adhesive sets rapidly.
  5. Controlador de muntatge: Select a suitable mounting location for the electronic switch/controller. The kit includes a metal mounting bracket, but flexibility exists for placement. Ensure the controller is accessible and visible during operation.
  6. Cablejat de ruta: Connect the overgrip wires to the main wiring loom. Route all wiring carefully, ensuring it is clear of moving parts, pinch points, and heat sources. Use the provided cable ties to secure the wiring neatly along the handlebars and frame. Ensure sufficient slack in the throttle grip wiring to allow for full throttle rotation and handlebar movement without strain.
  7. Connectar a la bateria: Connect the fused wiring loom directly to your motorcycle's battery terminals. The system is designed with an auto-shutoff feature to prevent battery drain if left on after the ignition is off.
  8. Optional End Cap Modification: If using bar-end weights or mirrors, the rounded end caps of the overgrips can be carefully cut off. Do not cut further up the grip, as heating elements are embedded within the material.

4. Instruccions de funcionament

The Oxford Essential HotHands system features an intuitive control interface for adjusting heat levels.

  1. Encès/apagat: Press the '+' button on the controller to power on the system. The LED indicator will illuminate. To power off, press the '-' button repeatedly until the lowest setting is reached, then press it once more.
  2. Ajustar el nivell de calor: Use the '+' and '-' buttons to cycle through the available heat settings. The LED indicator will change to reflect the current heat level. The system typically offers multiple settings, allowing for precise temperature control.
  3. Escalfament inicial: For rapid heating, it is recommended to start at a higher setting. Once the desired warmth is achieved, reduce the setting to maintain comfort.
  4. Mode d'estalvi de bateria: The controller is equipped with a battery saver mode that automatically shuts off the grips if the motorcycle's voltage drops below a certain threshold, preventing excessive battery drain.

5. Manteniment

The Oxford Essential HotHands Heated Overgrips require minimal maintenance.

  • Neteja: Clean the overgrips and controller with a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that could damage the materials or electronic components.
  • Inspecció del cablejat: Periodically inspect all wiring connections for signs of wear, corrosion, or damage. Ensure cable ties remain secure and that wires are not rubbing against any motorcycle components.
  • Comprovació de fusibles: If the grips stop working, check the inline fuse in the wiring loom and replace it if necessary with a fuse of the same rating (5 Amperes).

6. Solució De Problemes

  • Empunyadures que no s'escalfen:
    • Check all wiring connections for proper seating and continuity.
    • Inspect the inline fuse for breakage and replace if needed.
    • Ensure the battery connections are secure and free from corrosion.
    • Verifiqueu que la bateria de la motocicleta tingui prou càrrega.
  • Una empunyadura no escalfa:
