3. Configuració

3.1 Attaching the Side Handle and Depth Gauge

The auxiliary side handle and depth gauge provide additional control and precision during operation. Always ensure they are securely attached before use.

2. Slide the side handle onto the front of the drill housing.
3. Insert the depth gauge into the hole on the side handle. Adjust it to the desired drilling depth.
4. Rotate the side handle to the desired working position and tighten it securely by turning clockwise.

3.2 Inserció de broques

Ensure the drill is unplugged before changing bits.

1. Open the drill chuck jaws by turning the chuck key (if applicable) or by hand for keyless chucks.

3. Tighten the chuck jaws securely around the drill bit. For keyed chucks, use the chuck key to tighten all three holes. For keyless chucks, hand-tighten firmly.

The PSB450RE features an electronic stepless speed control for precise operation.

• Per encendre: Press the trigger switch. The drilling speed increases as you press the trigger further.

• Funcionament continu: For continuous operation, press the trigger switch and then press the lock-on button (if available) while the trigger is depressed. To release, press the trigger again.

4.2 Rotació endavant/enrere

The forward/reverse switch allows for easy change of rotation direction, useful for screw driving or removing jammed bits.

• Locate the forward/reverse switch near the trigger (refer to Figure 2.3).
• Push the switch to the left for forward rotation (clockwise).
• Push the switch to the right for reverse rotation (counter-clockwise).
• Always ensure the tool has come to a complete stop before changing the rotation direction.

4.3 Drilling Mode Selection

The PSB450RE offers two drilling modes: rotary drilling and vibration drilling.

• Rotary Drilling (Drill Symbol): Use this mode for drilling in wood, metal, plastics, and for screw driving.
• Vibration Drilling (Hammer Symbol): Use this mode for drilling in masonry, concrete, and stone.
• To select a mode, rotate the large changeover lever located on the top of the drill housing (refer to Figure 2.4) to align with the desired symbol.

4.4 Drilling Applications Guide

Select the appropriate drill bit and mode for your material.

• Fusta: Use HSS drill bits or wood drill bits. Use rotary drilling mode.
• Metall: Use HSS drill bits. Use rotary drilling mode. Apply cutting oil for harder metals.
• Concrete/Masonry: Use carbide-tipped masonry drill bits. Use vibration drilling mode.
• Conducció de cargols: Use appropriate screwdriver bits. Use rotary drilling mode and lower speeds.
