Audio-Technica ATM510

Audio-Technica ATM510 Cardioid Dynamic Handheld Microphone User Manual

1. Introducció

The Audio-Technica ATM510 is a cardioid dynamic handheld microphone engineered for clear, natural vocal reproduction. Its cardioid polar pattern effectively reduces sound pickup from the sides and rear, enhancing isolation of the desired sound source and minimizing feedback. The microphone features a rare-earth magnet for improved output and transient response, and an internal shock mount designed to reduce handling and stage noise. Constructed with durable, all-metal components, the ATM510 ensures reliable performance in professional applications. The multi-layer grille provides excellent protection against plosives and sibilance without compromising high-frequency clarity.

4. Instruccions de funcionament

The ATM510 is a dynamic microphone and does not require phantom power for operation. Follow these guidelines for optimal performance:

  • Col·locació del micròfon: For vocals, hold or position the microphone 2-6 inches (5-15 cm) from the sound source. Experiment with distance to achieve the desired tone and to control proximity effect (increased bass response when close to the microphone).
  • Patró cardioide: The cardioid polar pattern is most sensitive to sounds directly in front of the microphone. Position unwanted sound sources (e.g., stage monitors, other instruments) to the sides or rear of the microphone to minimize their pickup.
  • Guanyar Staging: Adjust the gain on your mixer or audio interface to achieve a strong signal level without clipping (distortion).
  • Soroll de manipulació: The internal shock mount reduces handling noise. However, avoid excessive movement or tapping on the microphone body during use.

5. Manteniment

  • Neteja: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the microphone body. For the grille, a soft brush can be used to remove dust or debris. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents directly on the microphone.
  • Emmagatzematge: When not in use, store the microphone in its protective pouch to prevent dust accumulation and physical damage.
  • Condicions ambientals: Avoid exposing the microphone to extreme temperatures, high humidity, or direct sunlight for extended periods.

6. Solució De Problemes

  • Sense so:
    • Ensure the XLR cable is securely connected at both the microphone and the audio equipment.
    • Verifiqueu que el canal d'entrada del mesclador o interfície estigui seleccionat i que el guany estigui activat.
    • Prova amb un cable XLR diferent per descartar una fallada del cable.
  • Low Output Level:
    • Increase the gain on your mixer or audio interface.
    • Assegureu-vos que el micròfon estigui situat prou a prop de la font de so.
  • So distorsionat:
    • Reduce the gain on your mixer or audio interface to prevent clipping.
    • Assegureu-vos que el micròfon no estigui sobrecarregat per fonts de so excessivament altes.
  • Retroalimentació excessiva:
    • Reposition the microphone to point away from loudspeakers or monitors.
    • Reduce the gain on the input channel.
    • Utilize an equalizer to cut problematic frequencies.
