4. Configuració

The CFK1000 kit is designed for field use and requires minimal setup. Ensure you have a clean, stable work surface.

  1. Desempaquetar components: Remove all items from the rugged carrying bag.
  2. Prepare QbE System: Open the QbE Cleaning System box. The system is ready for use by pulling a fresh wipe from the top.
  3. Access Swabs: Open the tubes containing the 2.5mm Foam Fiber Optic Swabs and V-Groove and Ferrule Cleaning Swabs as needed.
  4. Position Electro-Wash PX: Keep the Electro-Wash PX spray can readily accessible for use.

5. Instruccions de funcionament

Follow these steps for effective cleaning of fiber optic components.

5.1. Cleaning Fiber Optic Connectors (2.5mm Ferrules)

  1. Prepare Wipe: Dispense a fresh, lint-free wipe from the QbE Cleaning System.
  2. Apply Solvent: Lightly spray Electro-Wash PX Precision Fiber Optic Cleaner onto a small section of the wipe. Do not oversaturate.
  3. Clean Ferrule End-Face: Gently wipe the ferrule end-face across the moistened section of the wipe in a single, smooth motion. Ensure the entire end-face makes contact.
  4. Seca: Immediately move the ferrule to a dry section of the same wipe and repeat the wiping motion to remove any residual solvent and contaminants.
  5. Inspeccionar: Use a fiber inspection microscope to verify the cleanliness of the ferrule end-face. Repeat if necessary with a fresh wipe and solvent.

5.2. Cleaning Fiber Optic Ports/Adapters

  1. Select Swab: Choose the appropriate 2.5mm Foam Fiber Optic Swab (48042F) for the port.
  2. Apply Solvent: Lightly moisten the tip of the swab with Electro-Wash PX Precision Fiber Optic Cleaner. Avoid dripping.
  3. Clean Port: Carefully insert the moistened swab into the fiber optic port. Gently rotate and move the swab to clean the internal surfaces and alignment sleeve.
  4. Seca: Use a fresh, dry swab to remove any remaining solvent or loosened contaminants from the port.
  5. Inspeccionar: If possible, use an inspection probe to verify cleanliness.

5.3. Cleaning Fusion Splicer Components and Work Area

  1. For V-Grooves and Electrodes: Use V-Groove and Ferrule Cleaning Swabs (51125F) moistened with Electro-Wash PX to clean the V-grooves, fiber clamps, and electrode areas of the fusion splicer.
  2. For General Surfaces: Use Lint-Free Precision Wipes (6704F) or Electro-Wash MX Premoistened Wipes (CP421) to clean the splicer casing, work surface, and tools.
  3. Wipe Direction: Always wipe from a clean area towards a dirty area to avoid spreading contaminants.
