Creating a Buttonhole

- Position Fabric: Place your fabric under the buttonholer, aligning your markings with the center guide of the buttonholer. Lower the presser foot.
- Begin Stitching: Start sewing slowly. The buttonholer will automatically stitch the buttonhole in four steps: left side, bottom bar tack, right side, and top bar tack.
- Complete Buttonhole: Continue sewing until the buttonholer completes all four sides and stops. Lift the needle and presser foot.
- Remove Fabric: Carefully remove the fabric. Trim any excess threads.
- Open Buttonhole: Use a seam ripper or buttonhole cutter to carefully open the buttonhole, being careful not to cut the stitches.
Adjusting Stitch Density
The stitch density (how close the stitches are) can be adjusted using the dial on the buttonholer. Turn the dial towards a higher number for denser stitches and towards a lower number for looser stitches. Always test on a scrap piece of fabric.
