1. Introducció

Thank you for choosing the ORICO 3-Bay USB 3.0 Duplicator Dock. This device is designed to provide a convenient and efficient solution for external storage and offline data cloning for 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA Hard Disk Drives (HDDs) and Solid State Drives (SSDs). With its USB 3.0 interface, it offers high-speed data transfer, and its stand-alone cloning function allows for direct drive duplication without the need for a computer.

3.1 Components

• Baies en cotxe: Three top-loading bays designed for 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA HDDs/SSDs. These are typically labeled as Source, Target1, and Target2 for cloning operations.
• Indicadors LED: Individual LEDs for each drive bay to indicate power and activity, along with progress LEDs for cloning operations.

4. Configuració

Follow these steps to set up your ORICO Duplicator Dock for first use.

4.1 Step 1: Connect Power

Connect the provided power adapter to the DC power input port on the back of the dock. Then, plug the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet.

4.2 Step 2: Insert Hard Drives

Ensure the power switch on the dock is in the OFF position. Gently insert your 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA HDDs/SSDs into the drive bays. Ensure they are firmly seated in the connectors at the bottom of each bay.

4.3 Step 3: Connect to Computer (for PC Mode)

If you intend to use the dock as an external storage device connected to your computer, connect one end of the USB 3.0 data cable to the USB 3.0 Type-B port on the dock and the other end to an available USB port on your computer.

4.4 Step 4: Power On

Flip the independent power switch on the dock to the ON position. The power indicator LED will illuminate, indicating the device is ready for operation.

5. Instruccions de funcionament

5.1 A. PC Mode (External Storage)

In PC Mode, the ORICO Duplicator Dock functions as an external drive enclosure, allowing your computer to access the inserted drives.

1. Ensure the dock is connected to your computer via the USB 3.0 cable and powered on.
2. If the dock is currently in cloning mode (indicated by specific cloning progress LEDs), press the PC button to switch it to PC mode.
3. Your operating system (Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 or Mac OS X 10.2 and above) will automatically detect the drives. No additional drivers are required.
4. The inserted drives will appear as removable storage devices in 'My Computer' (Windows) or 'Finder' (Mac). You can now access, read, and write data to them as you would with any other external drive.

5.2 B. Offline Clone Mode (Stand-alone Duplication)

The offline clone mode allows you to duplicate data from a source drive to one or two target drives without needing a computer connection.

Notes importants:

• The capacity of the target drive(s) must be equal to or greater than the source drive.
• All data on the target drive(s) will be erased during the cloning process. Ensure you back up any important data on target drives before proceeding.
• Ensure the dock is disconnected from your computer before starting an offline clone.

1. Ensure the dock is powered OFF.

6. Manteniment

• Neteja: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the dock. Do not use liquid cleaners, aerosols, or abrasive materials.
• Manipulació: Handle the dock and inserted hard drives with care to prevent damage from drops or impacts.
• Ventilació: Ensure the dock is placed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating, especially during prolonged operation or cloning.
• Eliminació segura: Always safely eject drives from your computer's operating system before powering off the dock or physically removing them in PC mode. For offline cloning, ensure the process is complete and the dock is powered off before removing drives.

7. Solució De Problemes

7.1 Drives Not Recognized by Computer

• Ensure the dock is powered on and the USB cable is securely connected to both the dock and your computer.

• Check your computer's Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (Mac) to see if the drives are detected but unformatted or unallocated. If so, you may need to initialize and format them.

7.2 Cloning Process Does Not Start or Fails

• Ensure the source drive is in the "Source" bay and target drive(s) are in the "Target" bay(s).
• Verify that the target drive(s) capacity is equal to or greater than the source drive.
• Ensure the dock is disconnected from your computer during offline cloning.
• Try resetting the dock by pressing the Restableix button or power cycling it.
• Check the health of both source and target drives. A faulty drive can cause cloning to fail.

7.3 Velocitats de transferència lentes

• Ensure you are connecting the dock to a USB 3.0 port on your computer. Connecting to a USB 2.0 port will result in significantly slower speeds.
