- Swing out the filter holder and insert a new paper filter (size #6).
- Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. A general guideline is one level scoop (approximately 6-7 grams) per cup, adjusting to personal taste.
- Close the filter holder and the water tank lid.
- Press the power button (often indicated by a coffee cup icon or 'ON/OFF') to start the brewing process. The indicator light will illuminate.
- Once brewing is complete, the coffee maker will automatically switch to the keep-warm function. The appliance will automatically shut off after a set period (typically 40 minutes).

- Fill the water tank with a suitable descaling solution (e.g., Melitta descaler) mixed with water according to the descaler manufacturer's instructions.
- Place an empty paper filter in the filter holder and the empty carafe on the heating plate.
- Press and hold the 'DECALC' button for a few seconds to start the descaling program. The program will run automatically.
- After the descaling program is complete, run two full brewing cycles with fresh water only to rinse the system thoroughly.
