  • Always disconnect power at the main supply before working on the circuit breaker or associated wiring.
  • Verify that the power is off using a suitable voltage provador.
  • Assegureu-vos de la connexió a terra adequada de tots els equips elèctrics.
  • Do not use the circuit breaker in environments exceeding its specified operating conditions.
  • Mai descartar o tamper with the circuit breaker's protective functions.
  • Utilitzeu l'equip de protecció individual (EPI) adequat, incloent-hi guants aïllants i protecció ocular.
  • Compliu tots els codis i regulacions elèctriques locals i nacionals.

3. Producte acabatview

The ABB S202-C3 is a compact miniature circuit breaker designed for reliable circuit protection. It features a thermal-magnetic trip unit, providing protection against both overloads and short circuits.

3.1 Característiques clau

  • 2-Pole configuration for two-phase circuit protection.
  • C-curve tripping characteristic, suitable for general applications with moderate inrush currents.
  • 3 Ampere rated current.
  • Rated for 480Y/277V systems.
  • DIN rail mountable for easy installation in distribution boards.
  • Clear ON/OFF indication.

3.2 Components

The S202-C3 MCB consists of the following main components:

  1. Palanca d'accionament: Used to manually switch the MCB ON or OFF, and indicates its status (ON/OFF/TRIPPED).
  2. Terminals: Terminals de cargol per connectar els cables elèctrics d'entrada i sortida.
  3. Clip de carril DIN: Mechanism for securing the MCB onto a standard DIN rail.
  4. Trip Indicator: The operating lever position indicates if the breaker has tripped due to a fault.

4. Configuració i instal·lació

La instal·lació ha de ser realitzada per un electricista qualificat d'acord amb tots els codis i normes elèctriques aplicables.

4.1 Muntatge

  1. Ensure all power to the distribution board is disconnected and locked out.
  2. Hook the top edge of the MCB onto the DIN rail.
  3. Press the bottom of the MCB firmly until the DIN rail clip engages and the breaker is securely seated.
  4. Verify that the MCB is firmly attached and does not wobble.

4.2 Connexions de cablejat

Use appropriate wire gauges for the 3A current rating and system voltage. Refer to local electrical codes for specific requirements.

  1. With power still disconnected, loosen the terminal screws on the MCB.
  2. Connect the incoming phase conductors to the upper terminals (Line side) and the outgoing load conductors to the lower terminals (Load side). Ensure correct polarity if applicable. For a 2-pole breaker, connect one phase to each pole.
  3. Insert the stripped ends of the wires fully into the terminals.
  4. Tighten the terminal screws to the recommended torque (typically 2.0-2.8 Nm, refer to device markings if available). Overtightening can damage terminals; undertightening can lead to loose connections and overheating.
  5. Double-check all connections for tightness and correct wiring.

5. Instruccions de funcionament

5.1 Encesa/apagada

  • To switch the circuit breaker ON, push the operating lever upwards to the "I" (ON) position.
  • To switch the circuit breaker OFF, push the operating lever downwards to the "O" (OFF) position.

5.2 Desconexión i reinici

If an overcurrent or short circuit occurs, the MCB will automatically trip to protect the circuit. The operating lever will move to an intermediate or "TRIPPED" position (often between ON and OFF, or fully OFF depending on the design).

  1. If the MCB trips, first identify and rectify the cause of the fault (e.g., overloaded circuit, short circuit in an appliance).
  2. To reset the MCB, first push the operating lever fully down to the "O" (OFF) position.
  3. Then, push the operating lever upwards to the "I" (ON) position.
  4. If the MCB immediately trips again, do not attempt to reset it repeatedly. There is a persistent fault that must be addressed by a qualified electrician.

6. Manteniment

The ABB S202-C3 MCB is designed to be maintenance-free under normal operating conditions. However, periodic inspections are recommended.

  • Inspecció visual: Periodically inspect the MCB for any signs of physical damage, discoloration, or loose connections. Ensure the operating lever moves freely.
  • Neteja: If necessary, gently clean the exterior of the MCB with a dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners. Ensure power is disconnected before cleaning.
  • Sense peces reparables per l'usuari: The MCB contains no user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to open or repair the device. If the MCB is damaged or malfunctioning, it must be replaced by a qualified professional.

7. Solució De Problemes

If you encounter issues with your ABB S202-C3 MCB, refer to the following troubleshooting guide. Always ensure power is disconnected before investigating electrical issues.

Problema Causa possible Solució
El MCB s'activa amb freqüència.
  • Circuit sobrecarregat.
  • Short circuit in connected equipment or wiring.
  • Faulty appliance.
  • MCB rating too low for the load.
  • Reduir la càrrega del circuit.
  • Inspect connected appliances and wiring for faults.
  • Replace faulty appliances.
  • Consult an electrician to assess if a higher-rated MCB is appropriate (ensure wiring can handle it).
MCB does not reset.
  • Avaria persistent (sobrecàrrega o curtcircuit).
  • Internal damage to the MCB.
  • Ensure the fault has been cleared before attempting to reset.
  • If the fault is cleared and it still won't reset, the MCB may be damaged and needs replacement by a qualified electrician.
MCB feels hot to the touch.
  • Connexions de terminals soltes.
  • Circuit sobrecarregat.
  • Falla interna.
  • Immediately disconnect power. Check and retighten terminal connections (ensure proper torque).
  • Reduce circuit load.
  • If problem persists, replace the MCB.
