The Raspberry Pi 7" Touchscreen Display is an official accessory designed to provide a visual interface for your Raspberry Pi projects. It eliminates the need for a separate keyboard and mouse, making it ideal for compact and embedded applications. The display features a capacitive touch screen capable of detecting up to 10 fingers simultaneously, offering intuitive interaction.

2. Contingut del kit

3. Instruccions de configuració

Follow these steps to assemble and connect your Raspberry Pi 7" Touch Screen Display:

1. Connect the Adapter Board and Ribbon Cable:
   Carefully lie the adapter board onto the back of the display. Connect the touch screen ribbon cable from the display into the J4 (Panel 1) port on the adapter board. Ensure the cable is inserted correctly and securely.

2. Attach Standoffs and Screws:
   Attach the four (4) stand-offs and screws. Secure them through the adapter board into the mounting holes on the back of the display. This will hold the adapter board firmly in place.

3. Connect Jumper Wires for Power:
   Connect the provided jumper wires from the Raspberry Pi's GPIO header to the adapter board. Typically, you will connect 5V (Pin 2 or 4) and Ground (Pin 6 or 9) from the Raspberry Pi to the corresponding 5V and GND pins on the adapter board. Refer to the Raspberry Pi GPIO pinout for exact locations.

4. Prepare Raspberry Pi and Power Supply:
   Ensure your Raspberry Pi has the latest version of Raspbian OS installed on its Micro SD card. Insert the Micro SD card into the Raspberry Pi. Then, attach a 2Amp power supply to the Raspberry Pi Adapter Board. This power supply will power both the display and the Raspberry Pi board.

Once assembled and powered, the Raspberry Pi 7" Touch Screen Display should automatically initialize with the latest Raspbian OS. The display functions as the primary output, and the touch screen allows for direct interaction with the graphical user interface.

5. Manteniment

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Raspberry Pi 7" Touch Screen Display, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:

• Neteja: Feu servir un drap suau i sense borrissol per netejar suaument la pantalla. Per a taques difícils, fregueu lleugeramentampNetegeu el drap amb aigua o un netejador de pantalles. Eviteu materials abrasius o productes químics agressius.
• Manipulació: Agafeu sempre la pantalla per les vores. Eviteu aplicar una pressió excessiva a la superfície de la pantalla.
• Medi ambient: Operate and store the display in a clean, dry environment, away from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, and high humidity.
• Connexions: Comproveu periòdicament totes les connexions dels cables per assegurar-vos que estiguin ben fixades i que no tinguin pols ni restes.

6. Solució De Problemes

If you encounter issues with your Raspberry Pi 7" Touch Screen Display, consider the following troubleshooting steps:

• La pantalla no s'encén:
  • Ensure the power supply is adequately rated (2Amp recommended) and properly connected to the adapter board.
  • Verify that the DSI ribbon cable and jumper wires are correctly and securely inserted, with the correct orientation. Incorrect insertion can prevent the screen from powering on.
• No Display Output / Blank Screen:
  • Confirm that you are running the latest version of Raspbian OS. Older versions may not have the necessary drivers.
  • Check the DSI ribbon cable connection at both the display and the Raspberry Pi.
• La pantalla tàctil no respon:
  • Ensure the touch screen ribbon cable is properly connected to the J4 port on the adapter board.
  • Verify that the Raspbian OS is up to date, as touch drivers are integrated.
• Display is Rotated 180 Degrees:
  • This is a common issue depending on the case or mounting. You can correct the display orientation via software configuration in Raspbian. Typically, this involves editing the /boot/config.txt file and adding lcd_rotate=2 (for 180-degree rotation) or other rotation values.
• HDMI Port Disabled When Display is Connected:
  • When the official 7" display is connected via DSI, the Raspberry Pi's HDMI output is typically disabled. This is expected behavior as the DSI port takes precedence for display output. Simultaneous use of both outputs is not natively supported.
