1. Introducció

The iRobot Roomba Virtual Wall Lighthouse is an accessory designed to enhance the cleaning capabilities of your Roomba robotic vacuum cleaner. It serves two primary functions: creating invisible barriers to restrict Roomba's movement (Virtual Wall mode) and guiding Roomba through multiple rooms for sequential cleaning (Lighthouse mode).

This device is compatible with specific Roomba models: 885, 880, 780, 577 i 570. Please ensure your Roomba model is listed as compatible. Note that some Roomba models, even within the specified series, may not support the Lighthouse function if they were not originally equipped with the necessary wireless communication capabilities.

3. Configuració

3.1 Instal·lació de la bateria

1. Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of the Virtual Wall Lighthouse.
2. Obriu la tapa del compartiment de la bateria.
3. Insert two (2) C-size dry cell batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Batteries are not included and must be purchased separately.
4. Tanqueu bé la tapa del compartiment de la bateria.

3.2 Col·locació del dispositiu

Place the Virtual Wall Lighthouse on a flat surface in the area where you want to control Roomba's movement. Ensure the device is upright and the signal is not obstructed by furniture or walls. For optimal performance, place it near a doorway or at the boundary of the area you wish to restrict.

4. Instruccions de funcionament

The Virtual Wall Lighthouse has a switch to select between two modes: Virtual Wall and Lighthouse.

4.1 Virtual Wall Mode

In Virtual Wall mode, the device creates an invisible barrier that Roomba will not cross. This is useful for confining Roomba to a specific room or blocking off areas you do not want cleaned.

1. Set the switch on the Virtual Wall Lighthouse to the Icona de Mur Virtual (usually a wall symbol).
2. Place the device at the entrance of the area you want to block. The signal can extend up to 2.4 meters (8 feet).
3. When Roomba approaches the barrier, it will detect the signal and turn away.

4.2 Lighthouse Mode

In Lighthouse mode, the device guides Roomba through multiple rooms, allowing it to clean one room completely before moving to the next. It also prevents Roomba from leaving a room until it has finished cleaning.

1. Set the switch on the Virtual Wall Lighthouse to the Lighthouse icon (often a lighthouse beam symbol).
2. Place the device in a doorway between two rooms you want Roomba to clean sequentially.
3. Roomba will clean the first room, then the Lighthouse will open the barrier, allowing Roomba to proceed to the next room. Once the second room is cleaned, Roomba will return to its Home Base, guided by the Lighthouse.

5. Manteniment

Wipe the exterior of the Virtual Wall Lighthouse with a clean, dry cloth as needed. Do not use abrasive cleaners or spray liquids directly onto the device.

When the batteries are low, the indicator light on the Virtual Wall Lighthouse may flash or turn off. Replace the batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation.

6. Solució De Problemes

• El dispositiu no s'encén: Ensure batteries are correctly installed and are not depleted. Replace batteries if necessary.
• Roomba ignoring the barrier/not navigating rooms:
  • Verify that the Virtual Wall Lighthouse is set to the correct mode (Virtual Wall or Lighthouse).
  • Comproveu que les piles siguin noves i que estiguin correctament instal·lades.
  • Ensure there are no obstructions between the device and Roomba.
  • Confirm your Roomba model is compatible and supports the specific function (Virtual Wall or Lighthouse). As noted in the introduction, some models may not have the necessary internal communication hardware for Lighthouse functionality even if they are in the compatible series.
  • Try repositioning the device.
