1. Introducció

The KORAD KD3005P is a programmable precision variable adjustable DC linear power supply designed for laboratory, educational, and industrial applications. It provides a regulated output of 0-30V and 0-5A with high accuracy and low ripple. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your KD3005P power supply.

2. Unit Features

• Voltage/Current Display: Shows the set and output voltage i valors actuals.
• OCP Indicator: Illuminates when Over Current Protection is active.

4. Configuració

4.1 Desembalatge i inspecció

Upon receiving your KD3005P, carefully unpack all components. Verify that the following items are included:

4.2 Connexió d'alimentació

1. Ensure the power switch on the front panel is in the OFF position.

3. Connect the provided power cord to the AC inlet on the rear panel and then to a grounded electrical outlet.
4. For safety, ensure the unit is properly grounded using the Earth (GND) terminal if required by your application or local regulations.

4.3 Connexió de la càrrega

Connect your device or circuit to the output terminals on the front panel using the provided test leads. Ensure correct polarity: Red (+) to positive, Black (-) to negative.

5. Instruccions de funcionament

5.1 Engegada/apagada

Press the Power Switch on the front panel to turn the unit ON. The LED displays will illuminate. Press it again to turn the unit OFF.

5.2 Configuració Voltage

1. Gira el Voltage Perilla d'ajust to change the output voltage.
2. Empènyer el Voltage Perilla d'ajust to toggle between coarse adjustment (larger steps) and fine adjustment (smaller steps for precise control).
3. El conjunt voltage will be displayed on the upper LED screen.

5.3 Setting Current (Current Limit)

1. Gira el Botó d'ajust actual to set the maximum output current (current limit).
2. Empènyer el Botó d'ajust actual to toggle between coarse and fine adjustment.
3. The set current limit will be displayed on the lower LED screen.
4. When a load is connected and the current drawn reaches this limit, the unit will enter Constant Current (CC) mode, and the C.C indicator will illuminate.

5.4 Constant Voltage (CV) and Constant Current (CC) Modes

• Vol. Constanttage (CV): When the load current is below the set current limit, the power supply maintains the set output voltage. The C.V indicator will be lit.
• Corrent constant (CC): When the load current reaches the set current limit, the power supply automatically switches to Constant Current mode, reducing the output voltage to maintain the set current. The C.C indicator will be lit.

5.5 Panel Lock/Unlock

To prevent accidental changes to voltage and current settings, push and hold the Voltage Perilla d'ajust for a few seconds. The LOCK indicator will illuminate, and the controls will be disabled. Repeat the action to unlock the panel.

5.6 Protecció contra sobreintensitat (OCP)

The OCP function protects the connected load from excessive current. To activate/deactivate OCP, push and hold the Botó d'ajust actual for a few seconds. When active, the OCP indicator will illuminate. If the output current exceeds the OCP threshold, the power supply will shut down its output to protect the load.

6. Programmable Control (USB & RS232)

The KD3005P can be remotely controlled via a computer using its USB or RS232 interface. This allows for automated testing, data logging, and precise control of output parameters.

6.1 Instal·lació del programari

1. Insert the provided software CD into your computer's drive or download the latest software version from the official KORAD weblloc.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software and any necessary drivers for the USB/RS232 interface.

6.2 Connexió a un ordinador

1. Ensure the KD3005P is powered off.
2. Connect one end of the USB cable to the USB port on the rear of the power supply and the other end to an available USB port on your computer. Alternatively, use an RS232 cable for the RS232 port.
3. Power on the KD3005P.
4. Launch the KORAD control software on your computer. The software should automatically detect the connected power supply. If not, refer to the software's help documentation for manual connection setup.

6.3 Ús del programari

• Set voltage and current limits digitally.

7. Manteniment

• Ventilació: Ensure the ventilation openings on the unit are not obstructed to allow for proper airflow and cooling. Regularly check for dust buildup around the fan and vents.
