- Prepare New Shower Arm: Apply plumber's tape (PTFE tape) clockwise around the threaded end of the new Moen shower arm that will connect to the wall fitting. Apply 3-5 wraps of tape to ensure a watertight seal.
- Install Decorative Flange: Slide the decorative flange (if separate) onto the shower arm, ensuring it faces the wall.
- Thread into Wall: Carefully thread the shower arm into the wall fitting by hand, turning clockwise. Ensure it is straight and not cross-threaded.
- Tighten Shower Arm: Using an adjustable wrench, tighten the shower arm until it is secure and points downwards at the desired angle. Important: Place a soft cloth or rag over the shower arm when using a wrench to protect the matte black finish from scratches or damage. Do not overtighten.
- Position Flange: Slide the decorative flange flush against the wall to cover the opening.
