1. Introducció

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and care of your WMF Lumero Portafilter Espresso Machine. Please read this manual thoroughly before first use and keep it for future reference.

2. Instruccions de seguretat

Observeu sempre les següents precaucions de seguretat per evitar lesions o danys a l'aparell:

• Assegureu-vos que l'aparell estigui connectat a una presa de corrent amb connexió a terra.
• No submergiu l'aparell, el cable d'alimentació ni l'endoll en aigua ni en altres líquids.
• Mantenir l'aparell fora de l'abast dels nens.
• No feu servir l'aparell si el cable d'alimentació o l'endoll està danyat.
• Always unplug the machine before cleaning or when not in use.
• Feu servir només aigua freda i fresca al dipòsit d'aigua.
• Aneu amb compte amb les superfícies calentes i el vapor durant el funcionament.

3. Configuració i primer ús

3.1 Desembalatge

Traieu amb cura tots els components de l'embalatge. La caixa conté:

• 1x WMF Lumero Portafilter Espresso Machine
• 1x Portafilter handle
• 3x Filter inserts (for 1 cup, 2 cups, and ESE pods)
• 1x Measuring spoon with tamper

3.2 Initial Cleaning and Filling the Water Tank

1. Before first use, clean the water tank, portafilter, and filter inserts with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
2. Col·loqueu la màquina sobre una superfície estable i anivellada.
3. Traieu el dipòsit d'aigua de la part posterior de la màquina.
4. Ompliu el dipòsit d'aigua amb aigua fresca i freda fins a la marca MAX.
5. Torneu a inserir el dipòsit d'aigua de manera segura a la màquina.

3.3 Preparació de la màquina

Before making coffee, the machine needs to be primed:

1. Connecteu la màquina. El botó d'engegada s'il·luminarà.
2. Col·loqueu una tassa sota el broc del portafiltre (sense cafè).
3. Turn the control dial to the coffee brewing position (icona de copa). Let water run through until the cup is full.
4. Turn the control dial back to the standby position (icona de punt).
5. Repeat this process for the steam function by turning the dial to the steam position (icona de vapor) and letting steam release for a few seconds.

4. Instruccions de funcionament

4.1 Elaboració d'espresso

1. Assegureu-vos que el dipòsit d'aigua estigui ple.
2. Select the appropriate filter insert (1-cup or 2-cup) and place it into the portafilter.
3. Add finely ground espresso coffee to the filter. Use the measuring spoon to add 1 scoop for a single espresso or 2 scoops for a double espresso.
4. Lleugerament tamp the coffee grounds with the flat end of the measuring spoon. Ensure the coffee is level and not overfilled.
5. Attach the portafilter to the brewing head by aligning it and turning it firmly to the right until it locks.
6. Col·loqueu una o dues tasses d'espresso a la safata de degoteig que hi ha sota els brocs del portafiltre.
7. Press the 1-cup or 2-cup button on the front panel. The machine will automatically brew the espresso and stop when the programmed volume is reached.
8. Per aturar la infusió manualment, premeu el botó de nou.

4.2 Ús de l'escumador de llet

The integrated milk foam nozzle allows for frothing milk for cappuccinos and latte macchiatos, or dispensing hot water for tea.

1. Ompliu una gerra amb llet freda (làctica o no làctica) fins a un terç de la seva capacitat.
2. Turn the control dial to the steam position (icona de vapor). Wait for the indicator light to show the machine is ready for steam.
3. Submerge the milk frother nozzle just below the surface of the milk.
4. Slowly turn the control dial to the steam release position. Steam will begin to froth the milk.
5. Move the pitcher up and down gently to create a consistent foam.
6. Once desired foam consistency and temperature are reached, turn the control dial back to the standby position.
7. Immediately clean the milk frother nozzle after use (see Maintenance section).

5. Manteniment i Neteja

5.1 Neteja diària

• Safata de degoteig: Empty and clean the drip tray daily. The drip tray has a water level indicator.
• Portafilter and Filter Inserts: After each use, remove the portafilter, discard coffee grounds, and rinse the portafilter and filter inserts under running water.
• Broquet d'escuma de llet: Immediately after frothing milk, wipe the nozzle with a damp cloth. Turn the steam dial briefly to release any residual milk from inside the nozzle.
• Exterior: Netegeu l'exterior de la màquina amb un damp tela. No utilitzeu netejadors abrasius.

5.2 Descalcificació

The machine features an automatic descaling program. The frequency of descaling depends on water hardness and usage. Refer to the machine's indicator lights for descaling alerts.

1. Feu servir una solució descalcificadora adequada recomanada per a màquines d'espresso.
2. Follow the instructions provided with the descaling solution and the machine's specific descaling procedure (usually involves filling the water tank with solution and running cycles).
3. Després de la descalcificació, esbandiu bé la màquina executant diversos cicles amb aigua neta.
