Introducció

This manual provides instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your GARMIN Speed Sensor Dual (Model 010-12843-10). This sensor attaches to the rear wheel hub of your bicycle to accurately measure speed and distance. It supports both ANT+ and Bluetooth signals for versatile connectivity with compatible devices.

Configuració

1. Installing the Speed Sensor

The speed sensor attaches to the hub of either wheel. For optimal performance and consistent speed readings, it is recommended to install the sensor on the rear wheel hub.

1. Locate the hub of your bicycle wheel.
2. Place the flat side of the sensor on top of the wheel hub.
3. Thread the mounting strap around the hub and over the sensor.
4. Securely fasten the strap to the hook on the sensor. Ensure the sensor is firmly attached and does not move during rotation.

2. Vinculació amb un dispositiu

The Speed Sensor Dual supports both ANT+ and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connectivity. This allows it to pair with a wide range of cycling computers, smartwatches, and smartphone applications.

• For ANT+ Devices:
  1. Bring the sensor within 3 meters (10 feet) of your ANT+ compatible device.
  2. Rotate the wheel a few times to activate the sensor. The LED on the sensor will flash green for 5 seconds to indicate activity.
  3. On your ANT+ device, go to the sensor settings and select "Add Sensor" or "Cerca Sensors".
  4. Select the GARMIN Speed Sensor from the list of available sensors.

• For Bluetooth Devices:

  3. On your Bluetooth device, open the Bluetooth settings or the compatible cycling application.

Nota: Once paired, the sensor will automatically connect to your device when active and within range.

Funcionament del sensor

The GARMIN Speed Sensor Dual operates automatically once installed and paired. It does not have any buttons or manual controls for operation.

• Transmissió de dades: It transmits speed and distance data wirelessly to your paired device via ANT+ or Bluetooth.
• Calibració: The sensor automatically calibrates itself using your GPS-enabled device. For best accuracy, ensure your paired device has GPS enabled and is receiving a strong signal during your first few rides. Manual wheel circumference input may be an option on some head units for enhanced precision.

Manteniment

The sensor uses a replaceable CR2032 coin cell battery. The typical battery life is up to 12 months with normal use.

3. Carefully remove the cover and the old CR2032 battery.

5. Replace the battery cover, aligning the marks, and twist clockwise with a coin until it is securely locked.

Nota: After replacing the battery, the sensor may need to be re-paired with your device, or it may automatically reconnect upon activation.

Neteja del sensor

Clean the sensor regularly with a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the sensor casing o components interns.

Resolució de problemes

• Sensor not detected by device:
  • Ensure the sensor is properly installed and the wheel is rotating to activate it.
  • Comproveu la bateria. Substituïu-la si cal.
  • Bring the sensor closer to your device (within 3 meters).
  • Disable and re-enable Bluetooth/ANT+ on your device.
  • Remove the sensor from your device's paired list and attempt to re-pair it.
  • Check for firmware updates for your cycling computer or smartphone application.
• Lectures de velocitat/distància inexactes:
  • Ensure the sensor is securely mounted and not slipping on the hub.
  • Verify that your paired device's wheel circumference setting is correct (if applicable).
  • Ensure your GPS-enabled device has a clear view of the sky for accurate initial calibration.

This warranty does not apply to: (i) cosmetic damage, such as scratches, nicks and dents; (ii) consumable parts, such as batteries, unless product damage has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship; (iii) damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, water, flood, fire, or other acts of nature or external causes; (iv) damage caused by service performed by anyone who is not an authorized service provider of GARMIN; or (v) damage to a product that has been modified or altered without the written permission of GARMIN.
