Introducció
The MFJ-259D is a versatile and reliable antenna analyzer designed for amateur radio operators and professional technicians. This compact and portable device is essential for testing, tuning, and troubleshooting antennas, transmission lines, and other RF components. It covers a wide frequency range, including 100-160 KHz, 280-520 KHz, and 0.53-230 MHz, making it suitable for HF, VHF, and other bands.
The analyzer provides instant readings for SWR and complex impedance, along with other critical parameters, displayed on an easy-to-read LCD screen and analog meters. Its built-in frequency generator and battery-powered operation enhance its utility for both bench and field use.
Informació de seguretat
- No utilitzeu el dispositiu en mullat o damp condicions.
- Assegureu-vos una ventilació adequada per evitar el sobreescalfament.
- Use only specified power sources (10 AA batteries or optional MFJ-1312D AC adapter).
- Avoid connecting the analyzer to active transmitting antennas without proper isolation.
- Mantingueu el dispositiu allunyat de camps magnètics forts.
Producte acabatview

Configuració
Alimentació de la Unitat
The MFJ-259D can be powered by:
- Bateries internes: Install 10 AA or Ni-MH rechargeable batteries (not included) into the battery compartment. Ensure correct polarity.
- Adaptador de CA extern: Use the optional MFJ-1312D 110 VAC adapter (not included) by plugging it into the 13.8 VDC power input jack on the rear panel.
When using rechargeable Ni-MH batteries, the optional MFJ-1312D adapter can also charge them while connected to the unit.
Connexió d'una antena
Connect the antenna or transmission line you wish to analyze to the ANTENNA SO-239 connector located on the rear panel of the unit. Ensure the connection is secure.
Instruccions de funcionament
- Encès: Press the red POWER button on the front panel to turn on the analyzer. The LCD screen will illuminate.
- Seleccioneu la banda de freqüència: Use the FREQUENCY MHz rotary knob to select the desired frequency range (e.g., 100-160 KHz, 280-520 KHz, 0.53-2.10 MHz, 2.10-4.70 MHz, 4.70-10.9 MHz, 10.9-27.8 MHz, 27.8-66.6 MHz, 66.6-112.5 MHz, 112.5-153 MHz, 153-232 MHz).
- Tune Frequency: Use the TUNE rotary knob to fine-tune the operating frequency within the selected band. The current frequency will be displayed on the LCD.
- Llegeix les mesures:
- SWR: The SWR analog meter and the LCD will display the Standing Wave Ratio.
- Impedància: The Impedance analog meter and the LCD will display the complex impedance (Resistance and Reactance).
- Ajust d'antenes: When adjusting Yagi, quad, loop, or other antennas, observe the SWR, resistance, and reactance readings on the display as you make changes to antenna spacing or height. This provides real-time feedback for optimization.
- Using GATE/MODE Buttons: Refer to the detailed manual for specific functions of the GATE and MODE buttons, which allow access to advanced measurement modes and settings.
- Frequency Counter Input: To use the frequency counter, connect an external signal to the FREQUENCY COUNTER INPUT (BNC) on the rear panel. Select the appropriate mode using the MODE button.
Manteniment
- Neteja: Netegeu la unitat amb un drap suau i sec. No utilitzeu productes de neteja abrasius ni dissolvents.
- Cura de la bateria: If using rechargeable batteries, ensure they are charged regularly. Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
- Emmagatzematge: Store the analyzer in a dry, dust-free environment away from extreme temperatures.
Resolució de problemes
- La unitat no s'encén:
- Comproveu la instal·lació de la bateria i el nivell de càrrega.
- If using AC adapter, ensure it is properly connected and functional.
- Lectures inexactes:
- Ensure antenna connections are secure and free of corrosion.
- Verify the correct frequency band is selected.
- Check for external RF interference.
- Problemes de visualització:
- If the LCD is dim, check battery power.
- If the display is erratic, try restarting the unit.
