1. Introducció

Thank you for choosing the Byox Dino Kids Helmet. This manual provides essential information for the proper fitting, use, maintenance, and care of your helmet. Please read these instructions carefully before use and retain them for future reference. This helmet is designed to provide protection during cycling activities for children with a head circumference of 48-54 cm.

2. Informació de seguretat

  • Helmet Purpose: This helmet is intended for use during cycling and similar recreational activities. It is not designed for motor sports or other activities where a different type of helmet is specified.
  • Ajust adequat: For maximum protection, the helmet must fit properly and be securely fastened. An improperly fitted helmet can reduce its protective capabilities.
  • Impact Damage: A helmet that has sustained an impact, even if no visible damage is apparent, should be replaced immediately. The protective material may be compromised.
  • Visibilitat: Ensure the child is visible to others. The helmet includes a rear light for enhanced visibility.
  • Modificacions: Do not modify or remove any original components of the helmet. Any alterations may compromise its safety features.
  • Productes químics: Avoid contact with solvents, paints, or adhesives, as these can damage the helmet's materials without visible signs.

3. Configuració i muntatge

Proper helmet fit is crucial for safety. Follow these steps to ensure the helmet fits correctly:

  1. Posicionament: Place the helmet squarely on the child's head, covering the forehead. The front edge of the helmet should be about two finger-widths above the eyebrows.
  2. Ajust del sistema de retenció: The Byox Dino helmet features an adjustable dial at the rear. Turn the dial clockwise to tighten the fit and counter-clockwise to loosen it, until the helmet feels snug but comfortable. It should not move excessively when the child shakes their head.
  3. Ajust de la corretja: Adjust the side straps so that they form a 'V' shape just below the child's ears. The chin strap should be tightened so that it is snug against the chin, allowing only one or two fingers to fit between the strap and the chin.
  4. Sivella: Fasten the buckle securely. Ensure it does not pinch the skin.

  • Inspecció: Regularly inspect the helmet for any signs of damage, such as cracks in the shell, dents, or frayed straps. If any damage is found, the helmet should be replaced.
  • Substitució: Helmets have a limited lifespan. Even without visible damage, materials can degrade over time. It is recommended to replace helmets every 3-5 years, or immediately after any significant impact.

6. Solució De Problemes

  • El casc sembla fluix: Ensure the rear adjustment dial is tightened sufficiently and the chin strap is snug. Re-check the 'V' shape of the side straps below the ears.
  • Helmet is uncomfortable: Loosen the adjustment dial slightly. Ensure no hair is caught in the straps or buckle. Check that the helmet is positioned correctly on the head, not tilted too far back or forward.
  • Rear light not working: Check if the battery needs replacement. Refer to the battery compartment for instructions on changing the battery (typically a small coin cell battery). Ensure the battery is inserted with correct polarity.
  • Helmet moves excessively: This indicates an improper fit. Re-adjust the retention system and straps as described in Section 3. If the helmet still moves, it may be the wrong size for the child.
