Guia de muntatge
Follow these steps carefully to assemble your FM radio kit. Refer to the silk screen markings on the PCB for component placement.
Step 1: Prepare the Printed Circuit Board (PCB)
Examine the PCB. Note the clear silk screen markings that indicate where each component should be placed. The PCB has designated pads for through-hole components and a specific area for the surface-mount Integrated Circuit (IC).

Step 2: Solder Components
Begin by soldering the smallest components first, typically the resistors and diodes, followed by capacitors, buttons, and the headphone jack. Pay close attention to polarity for electrolytic capacitors and diodes. The IC should be soldered carefully, ensuring all pins are correctly aligned and soldered without bridging. A fine-tip soldering iron is recommended for the IC.
- Resistències: Insert resistors into their designated spots (R1, R2, etc.) and solder them. Resistors are not polarized.
- Condensadors: Insert ceramic capacitors (C1, C2, C3) and solder. These are not polarized. For electrolytic capacitors (C4, C5), ensure the longer lead (positive) matches the '+' marking on the PCB.
- Botons: Place the tactile buttons (S1, S2, S3, S4, S5) and solder their pins.
- Auriculars Jack: Insert the 3.5mm headphone jack (J1) and solder all connection points.
- IC: Carefully align the IC with its footprint on the PCB. Ensure the notch or dot on the IC matches the orientation indicated on the silk screen. Solder one corner pin first, then check alignment before soldering the remaining pins. Avoid solder bridges between pins.
- Crystal Oscillator (Y1) and Inductors (L1, L2, L3): Solder these components into their respective positions.
- LED: Observe polarity for the LED; the longer lead is typically positive.

Step 3: Connect Battery Holder
Connect the red wire from the battery holder to the '+' terminal and the black wire to the '-' terminal on the PCB, as indicated by the silk screen markings (BAT+ and BAT- or 3V). Ensure a secure solder connection.
Step 4: Power On and Initial Test
Insert two AA batteries into the battery holder. Plug in headphones into the 3.5mm jack. Press the power button (S3). You should hear static or a radio station. If not, refer to the Troubleshooting section.
Funcionament
Once assembled, operating the FM radio is straightforward.

Guia de resolució de problemes
If your FM Radio Kit is not functioning as expected, refer to the common issues and solutions below.
- No Power / No Sound:
- Check battery installation: Ensure AA batteries are inserted with correct polarity and are not depleted.
- Verify battery holder connections: Confirm the red and black wires are securely soldered to the correct terminals on the PCB.
- Inspect power button (S3) soldering: Ensure the button is properly soldered and making contact.
- Check headphone connection: Ensure headphones are fully plugged into the 3.5mm jack.
- Static Only / Cannot Tune Stations:
- Check antenna connection: The headphone cable acts as the antenna. Ensure it is fully inserted.
- Verify soldering of CH+ (S4) and CH- (S5) buttons: Ensure they are properly soldered and functional.
- Inspect IC soldering: Cold joints or solder bridges on the IC pins can prevent proper operation. Re-examine under magnification if possible.
- Check crystal oscillator (Y1) soldering: Ensure it is securely connected.
- Volum baix o so distorsionat:
- Check volume buttons (S1, S2) soldering: Ensure they are working correctly.
- Inspect electrolytic capacitors (C4, C5) polarity and soldering: Incorrect polarity or poor connections can affect audio quality.
- Ensure headphones are functional: Test with another audio source if possible.
- Component Overheating or Smoke:
- Desconnecteu immediatament l'alimentació.
- Check for short circuits: Look for solder bridges between pins or traces on the PCB.
- Verify component polarity: Ensure all polarized components (electrolytic capacitors, LED) are installed correctly.
Cura i Manteniment
- Neteja: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the circuit board. Avoid using liquids or harsh chemicals.
- Emmagatzematge: Store the assembled radio in a dry, dust-free environment.
- Substitució de la bateria: Replace AA batteries when audio quality degrades or the radio fails to power on.
- Manipulació: Handle the circuit board carefully to avoid bending or damaging components.
