1. Assemble the Filter Tank
- Place an O-ring into the long side of the filter drain nozzle.
- Carefully route the long side of the nozzle from inside the filter barrel and push it out from the bottom drain hole.
- Place another O-ring into the long side of the filter drain nozzle.
- Secure the nozzle in place by screwing on the nut from outside the filter barrel.
- Insert an O-ring into the drain hole nozzle cap and screw it onto the nozzle.
- Place the filter assembly inside the filter barrel.
- Position the funnel on top of the filter assembly, ensuring it's inserted correctly and centered.
- Fill the filter with either filter balls or sand, following recommended guidelines. Remove the funnel after filling.
2. Install the Multi-Port Valve
- Put the large O-ring onto the four-way valve.
- Place the valve on the upper part of the filter, ensuring the top of the filter assembly is properly inserted into the bottom of the valve.
- Ensure the valve pump opening aligns with the filter stand groove and the waste opening is oriented towards the drain nozzle.
- Secure the valve in place with the locking rings. Place the square nut on one side of each locking ring and tighten.
- Secure the pressure gauge with plumber's tape.
- Remove the pressure gauge covering screws and screw the pressure gauge onto the valve.
- Put O-rings on the hose adapters and screw the hose adapters onto the valve.
3. Install the Pump
- Place the pump on top of the base, aligning it with all four screw holes.
- Flip the mount base over and insert all four nuts into the mounting spaces.
- Carefully flip the mounting base back and place the pump on the mounting base, aligning with the screw holes.
- Place the bolts on the screw holes and tighten all four bolts with a Phillips screwdriver.
- Put O-rings on the hose adapters and screw the hose adapters onto the pump outlet and inlet.
4. Hose Installation

The 4-way multi-port valve allows for various operational modes to manage your pool's filtration and maintenance needs. Always ensure the pump is turned OFF before changing valve positions to prevent damage.

- Recirculate: Circulates water through the pool without passing it through the filter media. Useful for distributing chemicals or when the filter is bypassed.

Manteniment
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficiency of your sand filter pump system.
- Rentat a contracorrent: Monitor the pressure gauge. When the pressure rises 8-10 PSI above its clean operating pressure, it's time to backwash. Turn off the pump, set the valve to 'Backwash', turn on the pump and run until water from the waste port runs clear (typically 1-2 minutes).
- Esbandida: After backwashing, turn off the pump, set the valve to 'Rinse', turn on the pump and run for 30-60 seconds. Turn off the pump, then return the valve to 'Filtration' mode.
- Filter Media Replacement: Sand filter media typically lasts 3-5 years. Filter balls may require more frequent cleaning or replacement depending on usage. Consult your filter media's manufacturer guidelines for specific replacement intervals.
