Configuració

1. Instal·lació de bateries

The Pentax KM requires batteries for its light meter.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of the camera (refer to Figure 3).
  2. Descargoleu la tapa de la bateria.

The Pentax KM uses the K-mount bayonet system.

  1. Align the red dot on the lens with the red dot on the camera's lens mount (refer to Figure 1).
  2. Insert the lens into the mount.

Rotate the shutter speed dial on the top of the camera to select your desired shutter speed. Common settings include 1/1000s, 1/500s, 1/250s, 1/125s, 1/60s, 1/30s, 1/15s, 1/8s, 1/4s, 1/2s, 1s, and B (Bulb).

Adjust the aperture ring on your lens to control the depth of field and the amount of light entering the camera.

5. Enfocament

Mira a través del viewfinder and rotate the focusing ring on your lens until the image appears sharp. The KM typically features a split-image rangefinder and microprism collar for precise focusing.

6. Mesurament

The Pentax KM has a built-in TTL (Through-The-Lens) light meter.

  1. Press the meter switch (usually a small button or lever near the film advance lever) to activate the meter.
  2. Adjust shutter speed and/or aperture until the needle in the viewfinder is centered, indicating correct exposure.

7. Fer una foto

Manteniment

Cleaning the Camera Body

Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe down the camera body. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp Es pot fer servir un drap, però eviteu que entri humitat a les obertures.

Possible causa: Batteries dead or incorrectly installed (for meter-dependent functions).
Solució: Check battery installation and replace if necessary. (Note: The KM is mechanical, so the shutter should fire even without batteries, but the meter won't work).

Problem: Light meter not working.

Possible causa: Batteries dead or incorrectly installed.
