3. Instruccions de configuració
3.1. Connecting the Lavalier Microphone
- Connect the LV1 Lavalier Microphone's 3.5mm locking plug to the input jack on the U5 Transmitter. Ensure the plug is securely screwed in to prevent accidental disconnection.
- Attach the microphone to the subject's clothing, approximately 10 inches (25 cm) from their mouth, using the provided microphone clip. This distance helps prevent audio distortion.
3.2. Muntatge del receptor
- Attach the U5 Receiver to your camera's cold shoe mount.
- Use the included 3.5mm stereo TRS cable to connect the receiver's output to the input on your camera or audio recording device.
3.3. Powering On and Channel Selection
- Slide the power switch on both the Transmitter and Receiver for 3 seconds to power them on.
- Press the 'CH' (Channel) button on the Transmitter to select one of the six available wireless channels.
- Ensure both the Transmitter and Receiver are set to the same channel. The channel button on the Receiver will illuminate green when a successful connection is established.
3.4. Mic/Line Mode Selection
The Transmitter features a Mic/Line mode switch. Set this switch correctly based on your audio source:
- Mode de micròfon: Use when connecting a microphone (e.g., the LV1 lavalier).
- Mode de línia: Use when connecting an audio device such as a mixer or audio player. The switch will light up blue when Line Mode is selected.
3.5. Input Gain and Output Volume Adjustment
- Input Gain (Transmitter): Use the '+' and '-' buttons on the Transmitter to set the input gain. In Mic mode, the input gain ranges from -6dB to +12dB. In Line mode, it ranges from 0dB to +12dB.
- Output Volume (Receiver): The knobs on the U5 Receiver control the output volume level to your DSLR or video camera. Fine gain adjustments from -54dB to +24dB are possible.
- Camera Input Level: When setting your audio levels, ensure your DSLR or video camera's audio recording volume is set to manual mode. It is generally recommended to set the camera input level low and adjust the Transmitter and Receiver levels as desired for optimal results.
- Opció de seguretat: For critical recordings, you can set the volume of one side (channel) lower than the other. This provides a safety option in case the primary channel experiences clipping or distortion, allowing you to use the cleaner, lower-level signal in post-production.

4. Instruccions de funcionament
4.1. Monitoring Audio Levels
Always monitor your camera's dB meter to ensure your audio signal is not clipping. The bright OLED display on the receiver also shows the battery percentage for both the receiver and transmitter, as well as audio levels.
4.2. Mono and Stereo Output Modes
The U5 Receiver supports both mono and stereo output modes:
- Mode mono: When using a single transmitter, set the receiver to mono mode. In this mode, the audio from the single channel is duplicated to both left and right outputs. You can adjust the left and right knobs to the same level for a balanced mono signal.
- Mode estèreo: When using two transmitters (e.g., with the U5T2 kit), the receiver can be set to stereo mode. In stereo mode, the audio from one transmitter is sent to the left channel, and the audio from the second transmitter is sent to the right channel. This provides greater control over individual audio sources during editing.
4.3. Funció de silenci
The receiver features mute buttons for each channel. In mono mode, pressing either mute button will mute or activate both channels simultaneously. In stereo mode, you can individually mute each channel by pressing its corresponding mute button. The mute button will illuminate red when muting is engaged.
4.4. Col·locació del micròfon
The Xvive LV1 microphone has an omnidirectional pickup pattern, which is optimal for voice recording. To prevent distortion, ensure the microphone is placed at least 10 inches (25 cm) away from the audio source (e.g., mouth).
5. Manteniment
5.1. Càrrega de la bateria
The U5 system operates on rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. Use the included USB A - Micro USB B cables to charge the receiver and transmitter simultaneously. They can be connected to any 5V USB charging adapter or power source. A full charge takes approximately 2.5 hours and provides up to 5 hours of continuous operation.
5.2. Replaceable Batteries
The batteries in both the receiver and transmitter are replaceable. This allows for quick swaps to backup batteries, ensuring uninterrupted recording sessions. Spare batteries can be purchased separately.
6. Solució De Problemes
6.1. Audio Clipping
If the audio signal is too loud, a clipping indicator will appear on the U5 Transmitter's display. To resolve this, reduce the input gain on the Transmitter using the '-' button until the clipping indicator disappears. Also, ensure your microphone is not too close to the audio source.
6.2. Signal Interruption or Poor Quality
- Comprova el canal: Ensure both the Transmitter and Receiver are on the same channel. Try switching to a different channel if you experience interference. The U5 operates on the 2.4GHz band, which can be susceptible to interference from Wi-Fi routers and other 2.4GHz devices.
- Distància: While the system offers a long range, extreme distances or physical obstructions (walls, large metal objects) can degrade signal quality. Try to maintain a clear line of sight between the transmitter and receiver.
- Nivell de bateria: Low battery levels can affect signal stability. Check the OLED display for remaining battery power and recharge or replace batteries if necessary.
