3. Configuració i instal·lació

The SBA-4000 system is designed for easy installation with two mounting options: flat surface and pipe mount. Ensure both break beam sensors are fully charged via their solar panels or micro-USB before installation.

3.1 Break Beam Sensor Placement

  • Position the two SBB-4000 break beam sensors facing each other, ensuring a clear line of sight. They can be mounted up to 300 feet apart.
  • Consider sun angles throughout the year. Avoid direct sunlight on the front of the receiving unit at angles flatter than 40 degrees, as this can saturate the IR receiver and cause false alarms. For example, if in the Northern Hemisphere, face the transmitter South and the receiver North.
  • Use the included mounting brackets to secure the sensors to a flat surface or a pipe.
  • Ensure the sensors are level using the built-in bubble level for optimal beam alignment.

3.2 DCR-4000 Receiver Placement

  • Place the DCR-4000 receiver indoors, within one mile of the break beam sensors.
  • Plug the receiver into a standard electrical outlet using the provided power adapter.

4. Instruccions de funcionament

The SBA-4000 system utilizes simple code-learning technology for pairing sensors with the receiver.

4.1 Programming the DCR-4000 Receiver

  1. Introduïu el mode de programació: Press and hold the "Mode" button on the DCR-4000 receiver for 3 seconds until the blue lights begin blinking slowly.
  2. Select a Tune: Press and release the "Volume" button to cycle through the 12 available tunes. Stop when you hear the desired tune.
  3. Activa el transmissor: Activate one of your SBB-4000 break beam sensors by breaking the beam. The receiver will emit a confirmation chime.
  4. Sortir del mode de programació: Press and hold the "Mode" button again for 3 seconds to exit programming mode. The blue lights will stop blinking.
  5. Verify Programming: Activate the break beam sensor again. The receiver should play the selected tune, confirming successful programming.

Repeat these steps for any additional 4000 Series transmitters you wish to pair with the receiver. The DCR-4000 can accept up to 16 different transmitters.

5. Manteniment

5.1 Gestió de la bateria

The SBB-4000 break beam sensors are powered by internal Lithium Ion batteries, which are continuously charged by the dual solar panels. Under normal residential use, these batteries typically last a year or more before needing replacement. If solar charging is insufficient, a micro-USB connector is available for initial charging or supplemental power.

5.2 Resistència a la intempèrie

The break beam sensors are designed to be weatherproof and withstand temperatures from -30° to 120° Fahrenheit. Regularly check the rubber plug on the back surface of the units to ensure it is securely in place to protect against moisture.

6. Solució De Problemes

  • False Alarms (Daytime): Direct sunlight on the front of the receiving "A" unit, especially at shallow angles (flatter than 40 degrees), can saturate the IR receiver. Adjust the sensor's orientation or add a sun shield to block morning/afternoon sun while allowing midday solar charging.
  • No Signal/Intermittent Signal:
    • Ensure clear line of sight between the break beam sensors. Obstructions like dense fog, heavy rain, or dust can temporarily block the beam.
    • Verify the distance between sensors does not exceed 300 feet.
    • Check the battery charge level of the break beam sensors.
    • Ensure the DCR-4000 receiver is within the one-mile wireless range and not obstructed by significant terrain (e.g., hills).
    • Re-pair the sensors with the receiver following the programming instructions in Section 4.1.
  • Sensor no emparellat:
    • Confirm the receiver is in programming mode (blue lights blinking slowly).
    • Ensure the sensor's battery is charged.
    • Activate the sensor by breaking the beam during the programming step.
  • No Local Indication of Beam Obstruction: The SBB-4000 units do not have a local sound or visible indicator when the beam is obstructed. Use the DCR-4000 receiver to confirm beam breaks during adjustment or troubleshooting.
