1. Instruccions de seguretat

Please read all instructions carefully before using the KOIOS EM621 Espresso Machine. Retain this manual for future reference.

1.1 Seguretat general

• No submergiu l'aparell, el cable d'alimentació ni l'endoll en aigua ni en altres líquids.

1.2 Seguretat elèctrica

• Connect the appliance to a grounded electrical outlet with the correct voltage (120 V).
• Desendolleu l'aparell de la presa de corrent quan no l'utilitzeu i abans de netejar-lo.
• No deixeu que el cable d'alimentació pengi de la vora d'una taula o taulell, ni toqui superfícies calentes.
• If overheating occurs, unplug the power cord immediately and allow the machine to cool.

2.1 Components

3. Configuració

3.1 Neteja inicial

1. Traieu tots els materials d'embalatge.
2. Wash the water tank, portafilter, filters, measuring spoon, and drip tray with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
3. Netegeu l'exterior de la màquina amb anunciamp tela.

3.2 Omplir el dipòsit d'aigua

1. Remove the water tank from the back of the machine using its handle.
2. Ompliu el dipòsit amb aigua fresca i freda fins a la línia MAX.
3. Torneu a col·locar el dipòsit d'aigua a la màquina, assegurant-vos que estigui ben col·locat.

3.3 Preparació de la màquina

Before first use, or if the machine has not been used for a long time, prime the system:

1. Assegureu-vos que el dipòsit d'aigua estigui ple.
2. Col·loqueu una tassa sota el broc del portafiltre (sense cafè).
3. Turn the function knob to the "Coffee" mode limit.
4. Press the 1-cup button. Water will flow through the portafilter. Let it run for about 30 seconds.
5. Turn the function knob to the "Hot Water" mode. Let water flow from the steam wand for about 30 seconds.
6. Turn the function knob back to the neutral position. The machine is now primed.

4. Instruccions de funcionament

4.1 Elaboració d'espresso

1. Preescalfament: Turn on the machine. Ensure the function knob is set to "Coffee". Wait for the indicator light to turn solid, indicating the machine is preheated.
2. Preparar el cafè: Grind fresh coffee beans to a fine espresso grind. Fill the appropriate filter basket (1-cup or 2-cup) with ground coffee.
3. Tamp: Utilitzeu la tamper to press the coffee grounds firmly and evenly into the filter basket. Ensure the surface is level.
4. Connecteu el portafiltre: Insert the portafilter into the group head and twist it firmly to the right until it is securely locked.
5. Col·loca la copa: Position your espresso cup(s) on the drip tray directly under the portafilter spouts.
6. Cervesa: Press the 1-cup or 2-cup button. The machine will begin brewing. The PID control system ensures optimal water temperature for extraction, and the pre-soak system moistens the grounds for uniform extraction.
7. Atura: The machine will automatically stop brewing when the programmed volume is reached. You can manually stop brewing at any time by pressing the button again.
8. Treure el portafiltre: Traieu amb cura el portafiltre girant-lo cap a l'esquerra. Desfeu-vos dels mòlts de cafè usats.

4.2 Escuma de llet

1. Preparar la llet: Fill a stainless steel frothing pitcher with cold milk (whole milk is recommended for best results).
2. Activa Steam: Turn the function knob to the "Steam" mode. Wait for the steam indicator light to illuminate, indicating the machine is ready to produce steam.
3. Vareta de purga: Briefly open the steam valve to release any condensed water from the wand. Close the valve.
4. Escuma de llet: Immerse the tip of the steam wand just below the surface of the milk. Open the steam valve slowly. Move the pitcher up and down to create foam.
5. Atura el vapor: Once the desired texture and temperature are achieved, close the steam valve and remove the pitcher.
6. Vareta neta: Netegeu immediatament la vareta de vapor amb aiguaamp drap per evitar que s'assequin els residus de llet. Obriu breument la vàlvula de vapor de nou per buidar la llet de l'interior de la vareta.

4.3 Funció d'aigua calenta

To dispense hot water for warming cups or other uses:

1. Assegureu-vos que la màquina estigui engegada i preescalfada.
2. Col·loqueu una tassa sota la vareta de vapor.
3. Turn the function knob to the "Hot Water" mode. Hot water will dispense from the steam wand.
4. Turn the knob back to the neutral position to stop the flow.

5. Manteniment

5.1 Neteja diària

• Portafiltres i filtres: After each use, remove the portafilter, discard grounds, and rinse the portafilter and filter basket under running water.
• Safata de degoteig: Empty and clean the removable drip tray daily or when the red indicator knob appears.
• Vareta de vapor: Always wipe the steam wand immediately after frothing milk. Purge the wand to clear any internal residue.

5.2 Neteja del dipòsit d'aigua

5.3 Descalcificació

Regular descaling is essential to maintain machine performance and extend its lifespan. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage.

1. Prepareu una solució descalcificadora segons les instruccions del fabricant del descalcificador.
2. Ompliu el dipòsit d'aigua amb la solució descalcificant.
3. Remove the portafilter handle. Place a large water bowl under the coffee spout and another under the steam wand.
4. Press the 1-cup and 2-cup buttons simultaneously. The machine will begin the descaling cycle.
5. Allow the machine to complete the cycle, or continue cleaning until the water tank is empty.
