5. Configuració

3. Initial Punch (Important): Before binding documents, perform an initial punch using the included oil-absorbing paper. This helps to clean and lubricate the punching dies. Insert the oil-absorbing paper into the paper entry slot and press the punching handle down fully in one smooth motion. Repeat this process a few times.

1. Adjust Margin: Set the desired margin depth using the margin adjustment knob (refer to section 6.3).
2. Select Pins: Engage or disengage punching pins as needed for your document size (refer to section 6.2).
3. Inserir paper: Align the paper evenly into the paper entry slot against the margin guide. Ensure the paper stack does not exceed the maximum capacity of 20 sheets of 70g paper or 4 PVC covers.
4. Punxada: Press the punching handle down firmly and completely in one smooth, continuous motion. This prevents paper jams and ensures clean holes.
5. Eliminar paper: Release the handle and carefully remove the punched paper.

6.2 Adjustable Punching Pins

The machine features 34 optional punching pins, allowing you to customize the hole pattern for various document sizes, including non-standard paper. To disengage a pin, simply pull it out. To engage it, push it back in. Ensure all necessary pins are engaged before punching.

6.3 Margin Adjustment

The machine offers three adjustable margin depths: 2.5mm, 4.5mm, and 6.5mm. Use the margin adjustment knob or lever (as indicated on your machine) to select the desired depth. A deeper margin (e.g., 6.5mm) is generally recommended for thicker documents to ensure the pages turn smoothly without tearing.

6.4 Binding Documents with Wire Coils

This machine supports 3:1 pitch wire coils ranging from 1/4" to 5/8" (6.4mm to 15.9mm). It can bind up to 140 sheets of 70g paper.

1. Select Coil Size: Choose a wire coil appropriate for the thickness of your document. Refer to the table below for guidance.
2. Place Coil: Open the wire coil and place it onto the binding platform's teeth, ensuring the open side faces upwards.
3. Carrega pàgines: Carefully load the punched pages onto the open wire coil. Start with the back cover, then the main document pages, and finally the front cover.
4. Close Coil: Once all pages are loaded, move the document to the coil closing mechanism. Adjust the coil closer to the appropriate size for your chosen wire. Press the handle down to close the wire coil securely around the pages.
5. Eliminar document: Remove the bound document. The 180° lay-flat opening allows for easy reading and copying.

7. Manteniment

• Safata de residus buida: Regularly empty the paper scrap tray located at the bottom of the machine to prevent it from overflowing and causing jams.
• Clean Punching Dies: If punching becomes difficult or holes are not clean, perform an initial punch with oil-absorbing paper as described in the Setup section. You may also use a soft brush to gently clean any paper residue from the punching dies (ensure the machine is unplugged).
