5. Configuració i instal·lació

Proper installation is critical for the safe and correct operation of the BMS. Follow these steps carefully:

  1. Balance Wires: Do NOT insert balance wires into the BMS connector before connecting the batteries. Ensure all battery connections are correct first.
  2. Connecting Sequence for BMS:
    • From the thin black balance wire (B-) to start, connect the 2nd wire (thin red wire) with the 1st battery's positive pole.
    • Then connect each cell's positive pole in order until the last one (B+).
    • Do not insert the connector directly after the wires are connected. Measure the voltage between two adjacent metal terminals on the back of the connector.
    • If it is a Li-ion battery, the voltage should be between 3.6V – 4.2V.
    • If it is a LiFePO4 battery, the voltage should be between 2.0V – 3.6V.
    • If it is an LTO battery, the voltage should be between 1.5V – 2.75V.
  3. Verificació: After the wiring sequence and voltage are confirmed to be correct, then insert the balance connector into the BMS. Adjust a multimeter to the buzzer position and measure the internal resistance between B- and P-. If the internal resistance is 0, there will be a beep, which means the BMS is good. Otherwise, do not weld and contact customer service.
  4. Pas final: Connect B- (thick blue wire) with the battery pack's total negative pole.
  5. After Finished Wiring: Mesura el voltage between B+ and B-voltage and B+ and P-voltage. If they are equal, the BMS works normally and can be used. If not, please recheck the wiring sequence.

Important Note: Incorrect wiring can permanently damage the BMS and battery pack. Always double-check all connections before applying power.

Once installed correctly, the BMS operates automatically to manage your battery pack. It continuously monitors cell voltages, current, and temperature to ensure safe operation.

  • Càrrega: Connect your compatible 12.6V (for 3S Li-ion) charger to the designated charge input. The BMS will manage the charging process, including over-charge protection and cell balancing.

  • Balance Function: The balance function works automatically to equalize the voltage across individual cells in the battery pack, especially during charging, to maximize battery life and performance.

  • Temperatura: Ensure the operating environment remains within the specified temperature range (-20℃ to 70℃).
  • Emmagatzematge: If storing the battery pack with the BMS for an extended period, ensure it is charged to a suitable storage voltage (typically around 3.7V per cell for Li-ion) to prevent over-discharge.

If you encounter issues with your BMS, consider the following common problems and solutions:

  • No Output/Input:
    • Check all wiring connections for correct polarity and secure contact.
    • Verify that the battery pack voltage is within the normal operating range.
    • Ensure the balance wires are correctly connected and inserted into the BMS.
    • Measure the internal resistance between B- and P- as described in the installation section.
  • BMS Overheating:
    • Ensure adequate ventilation around the BMS.
    • Verify that the load current does not exceed the rated continuous discharge current of your specific BMS model.
    • Check for any short circuits in the load or battery pack.
  • Unbalanced Cells:
    • Allow the battery pack to sit for some time after charging to allow the balance function to work.
    • Ensure the balance wires are properly connected to each cell.
  • BMS Not Charging:
    • Check the charger output voltage i corrent.
    • Verify that the charge current does not exceed the rated charge current of your BMS.
    • Ensure the BMS is not in an over-discharge protection state (if so, a small charge current might be needed to reactivate).
