Connecting Hard Drives
The adapter supports simultaneous connection of up to three hard drives: two IDE drives and one SATA drive. No drivers are needed for basic plug-and-play functionality on most operating systems.
Passos:
- Ensure the adapter's power switch is in the OFF position.
- Connect your 2.5" or 3.5" SATA HDD/SSD to the SATA port on the adapter.
- For 2.5" IDE drives, connect directly to the 2.5" IDE connector.
- For 3.5" IDE drives, connect to the 3.5" IDE connector and ensure the 4PIN Power Cable is connected to the drive and the adapter. If connecting two IDE drives simultaneously, set the 3.5'' IDE drive as the slave drive based on its manufacturer's instructions.
- Connect the USB 3.0 cable from the adapter to your computer.
- Connect the 12V/2A Power Adapter to the DC 12V port on the adapter and plug it into a power outlet. This is crucial for 3.5-inch HDD/SSD stability.
- Switch the adapter's power to ON.

Once connected and powered on, your operating system should recognize the connected drives as external storage. You can then drag and drop files, copy, or transfer data between your computer and the drives, or between the connected drives themselves. The USB 3.0 interface provides SuperSpeed data transfer rates.
One Touch Backup (OTB) Function
The adapter features a One Touch Backup (OTB) function for convenient data backup and restore. Note: The OTB function is not compatible with Linux and Mac OS. It is only supported on Windows systems.
Using OTB:
- Install the AI-OTB driver from the provided CD or download it from the manufacturer's weblloc.
- Launch the AI-OTB software.
- Configure your backup settings within the software, including selecting the source and destination folders for backup.
- Press the 'BACK UP' button on the ALXUM adapter to initiate the backup process.

Resolució de problemes
- Unitat no detectada: Ensure all cables (USB, power, data) are securely connected. For 3.5-inch drives, verify the 12V/2A power adapter is correctly plugged in and the adapter's power switch is ON.
- IDE Drive Issues: If connecting two IDE drives, ensure the 3.5'' IDE drive is set as the slave drive according to its manufacturer's instructions.
- OTB Function Not Working: The One Touch Backup (OTB) function is only compatible with Windows operating systems and requires the AI-OTB driver to be installed. It does not work on Linux or Mac OS.
- "USB mass storage device" Driver Issue: If your computer prompts for a driver installation, it indicates your OS lacks the necessary "USB mass storage device" driver. Ensure this driver is installed on your system.
- Optical Drive Compatibility: Note that Windows 10 and Mac OS systems may not be fully compatible with all DVD drives when using this adapter.
