1. Introducció

The SINOTIMER DDS529MR is a single-phase AC electricity energy meter designed for measuring active energy (kWh), voltage, current, power, frequency, and power factor. It features RS485 Modbus RTU communication for remote data acquisition and a pulse output for energy monitoring. The meter is designed for 35mm DIN rail installation, making it suitable for various electrical distribution systems.

A variant, the DDS529R, is also available, which displays only kWh.

5. Configuració i instal·lació

5.1 Muntatge en carril DIN

The DDS529MR energy meter is designed for standard 35mm DIN rail installation. Simply clip the meter onto the DIN rail in your electrical panel.

5.2 Instruccions de cablejat

WARNING: Ensure all power is OFF before proceeding with wiring. Incorrect wiring can cause damage to the meter, property, or personal injury.

The meter uses a 2-wire single-phase connection. Refer to the wiring diagram below for proper connections.

  • Entrada d'alimentació: Connect the Live (L) wire to terminal 1 and the Neutral (N) wire to terminal 4.
  • Potència de sortida: Connect the Live (L) wire to terminal 2 and the Neutral (N) wire to terminal 3.
  • Comunicació RS485: Connect RS485 A to terminal A and RS485 B to terminal B. (Refer to the side view image for terminal locations).
  • Sortida de pols: Connect the pulse output (SO+, SO-) to terminals 21 and 20 respectively for external pulse counting.

After wiring, ensure all terminal screws are tightened securely. Close the terminal cover before restoring power.

6. Instruccions de funcionament

6.1 Display Functions (DDS529MR)

The DDS529MR model features a multifunctional LCD display that cycles through various electrical parameters. Use the 'TURN' button to manually cycle through the display modes. The 'SET' button is typically used for configuration, though specific advanced settings may require the RS485 interface.

La pantalla normalment mostra:

  • kWh: Total accumulated active energy consumption.
  • V: Vol instantanitage.
  • A: Instantaneous current.
  • W: Instantaneous active power.
  • PF: Factor de potència.
  • Hz: Freqüència.

The DDS529R model will only display kWh.

6.2 Indicador LED de pols

A pulse LED on the front panel indicates the working status of the meter. It flashes at a rate of 1000 impulses per kWh, providing a visual confirmation of energy consumption.

7. Manteniment

  • Keep the meter clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners.

8. Solució De Problemes

8.1 No Display / Meter Not Powering On

  • Check the main power supply to ensure it is active.
  • Verify that the Live (L) and Neutral (N) wires are correctly connected to terminals 1 and 4 respectively, and that connections are secure.
  • Assegureu-vos que el volum nominaltage (230V AC) is supplied to the meter.

8.2 Lectures incorrectes

  • Confirm that the wiring for input and output is correct as per the diagram (Figure 3).
  • Ensure the load connected is within the meter's maximum current rating (80A).

8.3 RS485 Communication Issues

  • Check the RS485 A and B connections for correct polarity and secure contact.
  • Verify the communication settings (baud rate, parity, data bits, stop bits) on your Modbus master device match the meter's settings.
  • Ensure the RS485 Modbus RTU document is consulted for detailed communication protocols.

  • For accurate energy monitoring, ensure the meter is installed in a stable environment, free from excessive vibrations or extreme temperatures.
  • When using the RS485 communication, it is recommended to use shielded twisted-pair cables to minimize interference.
  • Periodically record kWh readings to track energy consumption trends over time.
