4. Instruccions de funcionament

4.1. Gestió d'energia

  • To power on, switch the ON/OFF button to 'ON'. The flash will start charging (charging indicator is dim). After a few seconds, the charging indicator turns red, indicating it's ready to shoot.
  • To power off, switch the ON/OFF button to 'OFF'.
  • For a test flash, press the 'TEST' button.
  • Si l'indicador vermell de càrrega lamp flickers every 1 second, it indicates low battery. Replace the batteries.

4.2. Control de potència

The flash unit offers 8 steps of power output control, indicated by 8 LED lamps. Each LED represents a different power level.

  • Press the '+' button to increase power output. The sequence is: 1/128, 1/64, 1/32, 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1/1 (full power).
  • Press the '-' button to decrease power output.

4.3. M Mode (Manual Mode)

Press the 'MODE' button until 'M' is indicated. In M Mode, you can mount the TT520 II/TT560 II onto your camera's hot shoe or a speedlite trigger's hot shoe. You manually set the flash brightness, adjust your camera settings, and press the shutter. The flash will fire synchronously with the camera's signal.

Step-by-step instructions for operating the flash in M (Manual) mode.
Operation Explanation: Set Top Mode (M Mode).

4.4. S1 Mode (Slave Mode 1)

Press the 'MODE' button until 'S1' is indicated. S1 Mode is used for slave flash in manual flash environments. The flash will fire synchronously with the first flash from a master flash, mimicking the effect of a radio trigger.

4.5. S2 Mode (Slave Mode 2)

Press the 'MODE' button until 'S2' is indicated. S2 Mode is also for slave flash. It will ignore the first pre-flash from a master flash and fire synchronously with the second flash, which is useful for cameras that emit a pre-flash.

Nota: The optic light sensor will stop functioning under M Mode. The hot shoe's trigger function will stop under S1 and S2 Mode.

4.6. Wireless Triggering Function

The TT520 II/TT560 II has a built-in wireless receiver (433MHz). Use an RT transmitter as the transmitting end.

  • Long press the 'MODE' button for 2 seconds to toggle the wireless triggering function ON/OFF.
  • When the wireless indicator is lit, the function is ON. When it's off, the function is OFF.
  • To save power, turn off the wireless triggering function when not in use, as it increases current consumption.

4.7. Sync Trigger Function

Connect the camera and the flash unit using a PC sync cord to their respective sync terminals. This allows for synchronous flash triggering with the camera's shutter.

4.8. Power-saving Function

  • In M Mode, the flash will enter standby state after approximately 30 minutes of idle use. Press any button to wake it up.
  • In S1/S2 Mode, the flash will enter standby state after approximately 60 minutes of idle use. Press any button to wake it up.
  • In power-saving mode, the charging indicator flickers every 3 seconds, and other indicators are turned off.

4.9. Funció de protecció

  • Continuous Flash Protection: To prevent overheating and damage to the flash head, do not flash more than 20 times continuously at 1/2 or 1/1 power levels. After 20 continuous flashes, allow the unit to cool down for at least 10 minutes. If you continue to flash, the over-temperature protection may activate, increasing the recycling time to 10-25 seconds. Allow the flash to cool for about 10 minutes to return to normal.
  • Systematic Over-temperature Protection: If the internal circuit overheats due to excessive use, the circuit will automatically shut down power. The flash unit will return to normal once the internal circuit has cooled down.

Number of Flashes Before Over-temperature Protection Activation:

Nivell de potènciaNombre de flaixos (aprox.)
1/120
1/233
1/450
1/866
1/16, 1/32100

5. Advanced Application (Shooting Tips)

5.1. Bounce Lighting

To soften the light and reduce harsh shadows, bounce the flash light off a wall or ceiling. This creates a more natural and diffused illumination on your subject.

5.2. Using the Reflection Board

Pull out both the reflection board and the built-in wide panel from the flash head. Then, push the wide panel back in. When shooting with this setup, the reflection board creates a highlighted point (catch light) in the subject's eyes, making them appear more vibrant. This effect is best achieved when the flash head is angled upwards at 90°.

5.3. Using the Wide-angle Diffuser

Pull out the built-in wide panel to enlarge the flash lighting range. This will result in a softer and more natural lighting effect, ideal for wider shots or when you need to spread the light more evenly.

7. Solució De Problemes

  • El flaix no s'activa: Check battery levels. Ensure the flash is securely mounted or the wireless trigger is correctly paired and on the same channel. Verify the flash mode (M, S1, S2) is appropriate for your setup.
  • Temps de reciclatge lent: This can indicate low battery power. Replace batteries. If occurring after continuous flashes, the over-temperature protection might be active; allow the unit to cool down.
  • Problemes d'activació sense fil: Ensure both the flash and transmitter have their wireless functions enabled and are set to the same channel. Check the distance between the flash and transmitter (max 15m).
  • Flash head overheating: Reduce the frequency of continuous flashes, especially at high power outputs (1/1 or 1/2). Allow the unit to cool down for at least 10 minutes if the over-temperature protection activates.

8. Consells d'usuari

  • Compatibilitat de la càmera: The Godox TT520 II is widely compatible with most DSLR cameras featuring a standard hot shoe, including Canon, Nikon, Pentax, and Olympus. However, it is NOT compatible with Sony and Minolta cameras due to their proprietary hot shoe designs.
  • Tipus de bateria: The flash uses 4 AA batteries. Both alkaline and Ni-MH rechargeable batteries are suitable. Ni-MH batteries are often recommended for better performance and environmental friendliness.
  • Off-Camera Use: For off-camera use, ensure the wireless transmitter is properly installed on your camera and the flash unit is set to S1 or S2 mode, with the wireless function enabled. This allows for flexible lighting setups.
