This manual provides detailed instructions for the Gaqqee 500W/300W DC-DC Step-Down Converter module. This module is designed to efficiently convert a higher DC input voltage to a lower, regulated DC output voltage, with both constant voltage (CV) and constant current (CC) capabilities. 2. Informació de seguretat

Please read and understand all safety precautions before operating the module. Improper use can lead to damage to the module, connected equipment, or personal injury.

  • Seguretat elèctrica: Always ensure power is disconnected before making any wiring connections.
  • Entrada Voltage: Si l'entrada voltage exceeds 36V, always turn the ON/OFF switch to OFF before connecting wires, then turn it ON to prevent ignition during wiring.
  • Step-Down Only: This module is a step-down converter. The output voltage must always be lower than the input voltage. It cannot boost voltage.
  • Dissipació de calor: Under natural heat dissipation, the 500W module's power should not exceed 400W and current should not exceed 15A. If current exceeds 15A or power exceeds 400W, a cooling fan must be added.
  • Current Detection: The module's current detection is low-end. Do NOT directly short circuit the input negative pole and output negative pole with wires, as this can damage the power supply and electrical equipment.
  • Sortida antireflux: The module does not have output anti-backflow protection. When charging batteries or connecting to inductive loads (e.g., motors), external anti-backflow diodes must be added to prevent damage.

4. Configuració i cablejat

Careful wiring is essential for safe and proper operation. Always ensure the power source is disconnected before making any connections.

Connexions de cablejat:

  • Input Positive Pole (VIN+): Connect the positive terminal of your DC input power source.
  • Input Negative Pole (VIN-): Connect the negative terminal of your DC input power source.
  • Output Positive Pole (VOUT+): Connect the positive terminal of your load.
  • Output Negative Pole (VOUT-): Connect the negative terminal of your load.
  • Soft Start Switch (ON/OFF): This switch controls the power to the module. Ensure it is in the OFF position before initial wiring, especially if input voltage supera els 36 V.

Important: The module has input reverse protection (MOS transistor reverse connection), but it does not have output anti-backflow. If connecting to a battery or inductive load, install an external anti-backflow diode on the output.

5. Funcionament

Once wired correctly, you can power on the module and adjust its output.

5.1. Engegada inicial

  2. Ensure the Soft Start Switch is in the OFF position.
  3. Connect the input power source.
  4. Flip the Soft Start Switch to the ON position. The module should power on.

5.2. Voltage Adjustment (CV Mode)

  1. Connect a voltmeter to the output terminals (VOUT+ and VOUT-).
  2. Locate the blue potentiometer labeled for "Output voltage regulation" (refer to Figure 7).
  3. Turn the potentiometer clockwise to increase the voltage and counter-clockwise to decrease it, until the desired output voltags'arriba a e.

5.3. Current Adjustment (CC Mode)

To adjust the output constant current limit:

  1. Connect an ammeter in series with the output load, or use a multimeter in 20A or 10A current gear.

  3. Locate the potentiometer labeled for "Flat output current regulation" (refer to Figure 7).
  4. Turn this potentiometer counter-clockwise for about 10 turns to set the current to its minimum.
  5. Then, use the multimeter for short circuit output (briefly short the output terminals through the ammeter, ensuring the ammeter can handle the current).
  6. Adjust the current potentiometer clockwise until the desired current value is displayed on the ammeter.
  7. Remove the short circuit. The module is now set to limit the output current to this value.

Nota: The current detection is a low-end detection. Do not directly short circuit the input negative pole and output negative pole with wires.

6. Solució De Problemes

    • If current exceeds 15A or power exceeds 400W (for 500W module), ensure a cooling fan is installed and functioning.
    • Avoid prolonged short circuits during current adjustment.
  • Damage when charging battery or with inductive load:
    • The module lacks output anti-backflow protection. Always add external anti-backflow diodes when connecting to batteries or inductive loads.

7. Consells d'usuari

  • For optimal performance and longevity, always operate the module within its specified voltage, current, and power limits.
  • Consider using a heatsink or fan for applications that push the module close to its maximum rated power, especially for the 500W module operating above 400W or 15A.
  • When adjusting current, use a reliable ammeter and perform the short-circuit adjustment procedure carefully and briefly to avoid stressing the module.
  • Keep the module in a clean, dry environment to prevent dust and moisture accumulation.
