3. Configuració
3.1 Prepare M435
Most of the M435 assembly is completed at the factory. You only need to install the tripod, load plate, and propellers according to the instructions before flying. For long-term storage, it is recommended to uninstall propellers and charge/discharge batteries to 3.8V per cell to extend battery life.
3.2 Prepare Transmitter
The M435 PNP version does not include a transmitter. You can purchase a RadioLink AT9S Pro or other compatible transmitter. If using a non-RadioLink transmitter, ensure the receiver is SBUS/PPM/CRSF supported. Before flight, power on the transmitter first. For AT9S Pro, ensure the battery is charged and set low voltage alarms (e.g., 7.4V for a 2S battery).
3.3 Basic Operation of the Transmitter
Understanding transmitter operation is crucial for controlling the aircraft. The 4 basic channels are:
| Canal (CH) | Moviment |
|---|---|
| Canal 1 | Roll (Control aircraft to move left/right horizontally) |
| Canal 2 | Pitch (Control aircraft to move forward/backward) |
| Canal 3 | Throttle (Control aircraft to lift and descend vertically) |
| Canal 4 | Rudder (Control aircraft to turn clockwise and anticlockwise) |
These channels are operated by the two sticks. Auxiliary channels (e.g., for flight modes, PTZ, camera) are controlled by switches. The diagram below illustrates stick mode 2 (left throttle):

3.4 Binding Transmitter to M435
Each transmitter has a unique ID. Binding the transmitter to the receiver is essential for flight. Once bound, the ID code is stored, and re-binding is not necessary unless changing components. The diagram below shows connecting the RadioLink R12DSM receiver to CrossRace.

Passos d'enllaç:
- Place the transmitter and receiver within 50 centimeters of each other.
- Power on both the transmitter and receiver. The receiver will bind to the closest transmitter.
- Press the ID SET (binding button) on the receiver for more than 1 second. The flashing LED indicates binding has started.
- When the LED stops flashing, binding is complete. A signal tower on the AT9S Pro home page confirms successful binding.
Ensure the receiver outputs an SBUS signal (blue/purple LED on RadioLink receivers). Short press the binding button twice within 1 second to switch signal output if needed.
3.5 Installation of Mission Planner
For PNP versions, Mission Planner is required for parameter adjustment. Download and install Mission Planner from the official RadioLink website. Ensure .NET Framework is installed on your computer.

3.6.2 Flight Modes Setup
M435 has four default flight modes: Stabilize, Alt-Hold, Pos-Hold, and RTL. These are typically mapped to a 3-way switch (SWC) and another switch (SWD) on the AT9S Pro transmitter.

Flight Mode Setting Steps (AT9S Pro example):
- Connect CrossRace and receiver (ensure SBUS signal).
- Confirm successful transmitter-receiver binding.
- Connect CrossRace to Mission Planner. Go to INITIAL SETUP -> Mandatory Hardware -> Flight modes to set desired modes.
The PWM numerical interval for flight modes can be customized. For example, Stabilize mode is typically 0-1230 (987us), Alt-Hold 1491-1620 (1500us), and Pos-Hold 1749+ (2000us).
3.6.3 Failsafe Setup
CrossRace supports Return-To-Launch (RTL) if contact between the RC transmitter and flight controller is lost. This is crucial for safety.
Failsafe Setting Steps:
- Connect flight controller to Mission Planner. Go to Initial Setup >> Mandatory Hardware >> Failsafe.
- Set Failsafe Options:
- "Enabled always RTL": Forces RTL even in AUTO mode.
- "Enabled Continue with Mission in AUTO": Allows mission continuation (not recommended if outside RC range).
- "Enable always LAND": Forces immediate landing if RC contact is lost.
- Set "FS PWM" value:
- At least 10 PWM higher than Channel 3's PWM when throttle stick is fully down and transmitter is OFF.
- At least 10 PWM lower than Channel 3's PWM when throttle stick is fully down and transmitter is ON.
- Per sobre 910.
Failsafe Trigger Conditions:
- Pilot turns off RC transmitter.
- Vehicle travels outside RC range.
- Receiver loses power.
- Wires connecting receiver to flight controller are broken.
If Failsafe is triggered and then cleared, the aircraft will continue in the Failsafe mode (e.g., RTL). To return to normal flight, switch to another flight mode and then back to the desired mode.
3.7 Propellers Installation
Propellers are not installed from the factory. Ensure correct installation of positive/counter propellers. The drone's head (with camera) should face forward. Motors 2 and 3 rotate counter-clockwise, while Motors 1 and 4 rotate clockwise.

Nota: Never install propellers before completing all aircraft parameter settings to ensure safety.
3.8 Load System of M435
The M435 features a load system for carrying heavy loads, supporting both soft and hard connection methods. The drone comes with a load plate, secured by 7 screws to the aluminum pillar. A 20KG digital metal servo controls the hook's release and closing via channel 6 (SWB on AT9S Pro).

For irregular objects, an additional throwing plate is provided. Use ties to fix the load to the throwing plate, then connect it to the load servo.

3.9 Camera Tilt Servo (M435 FPV Version Only)
The M435 FPV version includes a camera tilt function, controlled by channel 9 (VRD on AT9S Pro). The camera can tilt downward up to 90 degrees and upward about 45 degrees. When assigning a switch for channel 9, set the travel within ±50 and slowly increase the travel value while observing the servo to prevent damage.
