Configuració UART

  • Configuració: USB VCP (Disabled)
  • Configuració: UART1 (Identified as IRC Tramp, Peripherals set to AUTO)
  • Potència i bateria: UART2 (Disabled)
  • A prova de fallades: UART3 (Disabled)

Flight Control Connection Methods

The diagram illustrates two primary methods for connecting the VTX to your flight controller and camera:

  1. Transmission Method 1: Details connections for RX, VTX, CAM, GND, and 5V from the VTX to corresponding pins on the flight controller and camera. This method typically involves direct wiring for video signal (VID/VOUT), ground (GND), and power (5V) to the camera, and RX/TX for VTX control to the flight controller.
  2. Transmission Method 2: Provides an alternative wiring scheme, also connecting RX, VTX, CAM, GND, and 5V. Ensure all connections match the diagram precisely to avoid damage.

Notes importants de configuració

  • Instal·lació de l'antena: Always ensure an antenna is properly installed at the RF output end before powering on the VTX. Operating without an antenna can severely damage the module and shorten its service life.
  • Font d'alimentació: Verify the correct input voltage (DC 5V) and polarity before connecting power. Incorrect voltage or reversed polarity can burn out components.

Instruccions de funcionament

The GEPRC RAD Tiny VTX features a single function button and three indicator lights (green for frequency points, blue for channel groups, red for power) for easy parameter adjustment.

Adjusting Frequency, Channel, and Power

  1. Enter Frequency Adjustment Mode: Press and hold the side button for 2 seconds. The blue light will flash, indicating entry into frequency adjustment mode.
  2. Adjust Frequency Point (CH1-CH8): Short press the button to cycle through frequency points CH1 to CH8. The indicator light will flash a corresponding number of times (e.g., 1 flash for CH1, 8 flashes for CH8).
  3. Enter Channel Adjustment Mode: After selecting a frequency point, press and hold the button for 2 seconds again within five seconds. The green light will flash, indicating entry into channel adjustment mode.
  4. Adjust Channel Group (Band A-L): Short press the button to switch between channel groups. The indicator light will flash corresponding times:
    • Band A: 1 flash
    • Band B: 2 flashes
    • Band E: 3 flashes
    • Band F: 4 flashes
    • Band R: 5 flashes
    • Band L: 6 flashes
  5. Enter Power Adjustment Mode: After selecting a channel group, press and hold the button for 2 seconds again within five seconds. The red light will flash, indicating entry into power adjustment mode.
  6. Adjust Output Power: Short press the button to switch between power levels:
    • 25mW: 1 flash
    • 200mW: 2 flashes
    • 400mW: 3 flashes
    • Mode PIT

Once the desired settings are selected, the VTX will save them automatically after a few seconds of inactivity.

Manteniment

  • Dissipació de calor: Ensure adequate airflow around the VTX module during installation and operation. Leave sufficient space for air convection to prevent overheating. Overheating can trigger the module's protection, reducing power transmission or even shutting it down, and can lead to permanent damage.
  • Cura de l'antena: Always handle the antenna and its UFL connector with care. Damaged antennas can lead to poor signal quality and VTX damage.
  • Neteja: Keep the VTX free from dust, dirt, and moisture to ensure optimal performance and prevent short circuits.

Resolució de problemes

  • Sense senyal de vídeo:
    • Check all wiring connections, especially power (5V), ground (GND), and video signal (CAM/VTX).
    • Ensure the antenna is securely connected.
    • Verify that the VTX is powered on and its indicator lights are functioning as expected.
    • Confirm that the receiver and VTX are on the same frequency and channel.
  • Poor Video Quality (Static, Lines):
    • Check for interference from other electronic components on the drone.
    • Ensure the antenna is not damaged and is positioned optimally.
    • Increase the VTX output power if operating at a low setting (e.g., 25mW).
    • Comproveu si hi ha connexions soltes o cables danyats.
  • VTX Overheating / Power Reduction:
    • This VTX has temperature control protection. If it overheats, it will reduce power or shut down to prevent damage.
    • Ensure adequate airflow around the module. Relocate if necessary to a cooler spot or improve ventilation.
    • Comproveu que l'entrada voltage is stable and within the specified DC 5V range.
  • Cannot Change Settings (Frequency/Channel/Power):
    • Ensure you are following the button press sequence correctly (hold for 2s to enter mode, short press to cycle, hold for 2s again within 5s to move to next setting).
    • Check if the VTX is in PIT Mode, which might restrict some adjustments.
    • If using OSD control (IRC Tramp), ensure the flight controller is correctly configured and communicating with the VTX.

Consells per a l'usuari

  • Efficient Wiring: Users have noted that this VTX allows for efficient connection and wiring in remote control toys, enhancing their overall performance. Take time to plan your wiring layout for a clean and reliable build.
  • Compact Builds: Due to its tiny size, the RAD Tiny VTX is ideal for micro and small FPV drone builds where space is at a premium.
  • Control OSD: Leverage the IRC Tramp protocol for convenient OSD (On-Screen Display) parameter adjustment directly from your flight controller, avoiding the need to physically access the VTX button during flight setup.
