4. Especificacions

Nota: Only 2.5-inch SATA serial hard disks/mechanical hard disks with a thickness below 9.5mm are supported. 3.5-inch SATA and IDE drives are not compatible.

5. Instruccions de configuració

1. Inserir discs durs:
   • Obriu suaument la tapa de la carcassa.
   • Insert your 2.5-inch SATA HDD(s) or SSD(s) into the bay(s). Ensure the SATA connectors align correctly.
   • Tanqueu bé la tapa de la carcassa.

   

   

2. Connecteu el cable USB: Connect one end of the provided USB 3.0 cable to the enclosure's USB port and the other end to an available USB 3.0 port on your computer.
3. Connect DC Power Cable (if needed): For stable data transmission, especially with multiple drives or older USB ports, connect the DC power cable to the 'DC IN' port on the enclosure and to a power source.
4. Select RAID Mode (Optional, Advanced Users):
   • Locate the RAID switch on the back of the enclosure.
   • Refer to the diagram below to set the desired RAID mode (LARGE, RAID 1, RAID 0, Normal).
   • IMPORTANT: Changing the RAID switch settings will erase all data on the drives. Please back up your data before configuring RAID modes.
   • After setting the switch, press the 'RESET' button to apply the changes.

6.1 Funcionament bàsic

• Once connected, the enclosure is plug-and-play. Your operating system should automatically detect the drive(s).
• The blue LED indicator light will be solid when the enclosure is powered on and in standby. It will flash during data read and write operations.
• The enclosure supports hot-swapping, allowing you to connect or disconnect it from your computer without needing to shut down the system. Always ensure no data transfer is in progress before disconnecting.

6.2 RAID Mode Descriptions

The MAIWO K25682 supports four RAID modes, each offering different benefits:

• RAID 0 (Fast Mode): This mode merges the capacity of both HDDs/SSDs into a single logical drive, significantly increasing read and write speeds. However, if one drive fails, all data will be lost.
• RAID 1 (Mirror/Safe Mode): In this mode, data is mirrored across both drives. This provides data redundancy; if one drive fails, the data is still accessible from the other. Performance is not enhanced. If a drive needs replacement, the new drive must have equal or greater capacity, and the system will automatically rebuild the RAID.
• LARGE (Big Storage Model): This mode concatenates the storage of both drives into one large volume, making it easier to manage. It does not offer performance or redundancy benefits.
• Normal (PM Model): In this mode, both HDDs/SSDs operate independently as separate drives. There is no RAID functionality, and each drive is accessed individually.

6.3 Rendiment

The USB 3.0 interface combined with UASP support allows for high-speed data transfers. For example, transferring a 1GB file can be completed in approximately 3 seconds.

• Smart Sleep Function: The enclosure automatically enters a smart sleep mode after 10 minutes of no operation. This reduces wear and power consumption, extending the service life of your hard disks. The drives will wake up quickly when reading/writing is initiated.
