The Vgate VS550 OBD/EOBD Scan Tool is designed to work with all OBD II compliant vehicles. According to EPA regulations, all 1996 and newer vehicles (cars and light trucks) sold in the United States are required to be OBD II compliant. This includes most Domestic, Asian, and European vehicles.

To confirm compatibility for vehicles from 1994 or 1995, check the Vehicle Emissions Control Information (VECI) Label, typically found under the hood or near the radiator. This label should state "OBD II Certified" if the vehicle is compliant. Additionally, all OBD II compliant vehicles must feature a standard sixteen-pin Data Link Connector (DLC) located under the dashboard.

6. Configuració

1. Locate the DLC (Data Link Connector): The 16-pin DLC is usually located under the instrument panel (dash) on the driver's side of the vehicle. Refer to your vehicle's service manual if you cannot find it.
