2.1 Instruccions de seguretat per a la instal·lació

  • Mount the controller indoors. Avoid exposure to components and water.
  • Install in a well-ventilated place. The heat sink may become very hot during operation.

3. Instal·lació

3.1 Atencions

  • Familiarize yourself with installation steps before proceeding.
  • Wear eye protection when installing batteries, especially flooded lead-acid batteries. Have fresh water available for contact with battery acid.
  • Keep batteries away from metal objects to prevent short circuits.
  • Ensure good ventilation, as explosive battery gases may be released during charging.
  • Avoid installing the controller in a sealed enclosure with vented batteries, as fumes can corrode circuits.
  • Ensure tight power connections and use cable clamps to prevent high heat from loose connections or swaying in mobile applications.
  • The controller supports lead-acid and lithium batteries.
  • System cables should be selected according to 5A/mm² or less current density (NFPA 70, Article 690).
  • Grounding wire size should not be less than 4mm².
  • Tightening torque for wiring screws should not be less than 1.2N.m.

3.2 Requisits de la matriu fotovoltaica

The controller is suitable for various PV modules. The series number of PV modules depends on the open-circuit voltage (Voc) and maximum power point voltage (VMpp) of the MPPT controller. 3.3 Mida del cable

The wiring and installation methods must conform to national and local electrical code requirements. The PV wire size is determined by the PV array's short circuit current (ISC). The battery and load wire sizes must conform to the rated current. Refer to the full user manual PDF for detailed tables on recommended wire sizes and circuit breakers for different models and currents.

PRECAUCIÓ:

When PV modules are connected in series, the open-circuit voltage of the PV array must not exceed 46V (XTRA**06N G3/BLE), 92V (XTRA**10N G3/BLE), 138V (XTRA**15N G3/BLE) at 25°C.

3.4 Muntatge

The controller should be installed in a location with sufficient airflow. Maintain a minimum clearance of 150 mm from the upper and lower edges for natural thermal convection.

3.4.2 Connection Diagram (No-Battery Mode)

When operating without a battery, the XTRA-N G3/XTRA-N G3 BLE series can be directly connected to an inverter. The inverter must be connected to the battery terminals of the controller. Ensure PV input power is sufficient for the load and inverter efficiency.

3.4.3 Posada a terra

XTRA-N G3/XTRA-N G3 BLE series are common-negative controllers. All negative terminals can be grounded simultaneously. The grounding terminal on the shell must be grounded to shield electromagnetic interference and prevent electric shock.

3.4.4 Connectar els accessoris

Connect the remote temperature sensor cable to the controller's RTS port and place the other end near the battery. If the temperature sensor is not connected, the default battery charging/discharging temperature setting is 25°C without compensation.

3.4.5 Encès

Connect the battery's fast-acting fuse to power the controller. Check the battery indicator (should be green). Then, connect the fast-acting fuse and circuit breaker of the load and PV array. The system will operate in preprogrammed mode.

5.1.2 Configuració local

When the default battery type is selected, battery voltage parameters cannot be modified. To change these, select the "USE" type. Detailed operations for entering "USE" battery type and setting parameters like System Voltage Level (SYS), Boost Charging Voltage (BCV), Float Charging Voltage (FCV), Vol baixtage Reconnect Voltage (LVR), Low Voltage Desconnectar Voltage (LVD), and Lithium Battery Protection Enable (LEN) are available in the full user manual PDF.

5.1.3 Configuració remota

Battery parameters can be set remotely via:

  • Programari de PC: Connect the controller's RJ45 interface to a PC via a USB to RS485 cable.
  • External WiFi Module: Connect an external WiFi module to the RS485 communication port.
  • External Bluetooth Module: Connect an external Bluetooth module to the RS485 communication port.

  • MT52 Remote Meter: Connect the controller to an MT52 remote meter via a standard network cable.

5.2 Load Modes

5.2.1 Configuració LCD

The controller supports multiple load working modes, configurable via the LCD display. These include:

  • Mode manual (per defecte): Control load ON/OFF via buttons or remote commands.
  • Light ON/OFF Mode: Load turns ON at dusk and OFF at dawn.
  • Light ON/OFF + Timer Mode: Load turns ON at dusk and stays ON for a set duration, then turns OFF.
  • Mode de control del temps: Control load ON/OFF based on real-time clock settings.
  • Mode sempre encès: Load maintains output state continuously (suitable for 24-hour power supply).

5.2.2 RS485 Communication Setting

Load modes can also be set via PC software, APP, or MT52 remote meter. Refer to chapter 4.1.3 Remote Setting for connection diagrams and settings.

8. Manteniment

The following inspections and maintenance tasks are recommended at least twice yearly for best performance:

  • Ensure the controller is firmly installed in a clean and dry ambient.
  • Ensure no block on airflow around the controller. Clear any dirt and fragments on the heat sink.
  • Check all naked wires for insulation damage (sun exposure, frictional wear, dryness, insects, rats). Repair or replace if necessary.
  • Tighten all terminals. Inspect for loose, broken, or burnt wire connections.
  • Check and confirm that LED indicators are consistent with requirements. Pay attention to any troubleshooting or error indications and take corrective action.
  • Confirm that all system components are ground connected tightly and correctly.
  • Confirm that all terminals have no corrosion, insulation damage, high temperature, or burnt/discolored signs. Tighten terminal screws to the suggested torque.
  • Clear dirt, nesting insects, and corrosion in time.
