5. Configuració
5.1. Instal·lació de la bateria
This multimeter requires a 9V battery (not included). To install or replace the battery:

5.2. Connexió dels cables de prova
Always connect the black test lead to the 'COM' (common) terminal. Connect the red test lead to the appropriate input terminal based on the measurement you intend to perform:
- Per al voltage, Resistance, Capacitance, Frequency, Diode, Continuity, and Temperature measurements, connect the red lead to the 'VΩHzCAP' terminal.
- Per mil·liampere (mA) or microampere (µA) current measurements, connect the red lead to the 'mAµA' terminal.

6.1. NCV (No-Contact Voltage) Mesura

6.2. Live Wire Detection (UT89X only)
The UT89X model can detect live wires using a single test lead:
- When the test lead is connected to a live wire (>60VAC), the screen will display "LIVE", and the red LED will flash with an audible alarm.
- When connected to a neutral wire or a voltage below 60VAC, the meter will not respond.

6.3. LED Test (UT89XD only)
The UT89XD model includes an LED test function to check the performance of LEDs:
- If the LED is normal and the forward voltage is within 11.1VDC, the green LED on the multimeter will illuminate continuously.
- If the LED is an open circuit, the screen will display "OL", and the red LED will illuminate continuously.

- Insert the transistor leads into the appropriate hFE test sockets (E, B, C for NPN or PNP).
- If the current magnification (P) is >50, the green LED will illuminate continuously.
- If the current magnification (P) is <50, the yellow LED will illuminate continuously.

- Set the rotary switch to the capacitance function.

6.9. Temperature Measurement (UT89X only)
The UT89X model can measure temperature using the included temperature probe:
- Connect the temperature probe to the appropriate input terminals.
- Set the rotary switch to the temperature function.
- The measurement range is -40°C to 1000°C (-40°F to 1832°F).
- Short press the SEL/REL button to switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F).

7. Manteniment
7.1. Atenció general
