1. Introducció

The MASTECH MS7222 RTD Calibrator is a specialized tool designed for the calibration of Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) transmitters, including those with pulsed outputs. This instrument is capable of both simulating and measuring seven distinct types of RTDs, with readings displayed in either Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F), as well as resistance in ohms. It is important to note that the MS7222 cannot simultaneously function as a source and a measurement tool.

  • Pantalla LCD: Shows measurement values, RTD type, and units.

5. Configuració

5.1 Instal·lació de la bateria

  1. Ensure the calibrator is powered off and all test leads are disconnected.
  2. Locate the battery compartment on the rear panel of the device.
  3. Obriu la tapa del compartiment de la bateria.
  4. Insert the required batteries, observing correct polarity (+/-).

5.2 Connexió dels cables de prova

Connect the test leads to the appropriate input/output jacks on the front panel based on the RTD configuration (2-wire, 3-wire, or 4-wire) you intend to measure or simulate. Ensure connections are firm.

6. Instruccions de funcionament

6.1 Encès/Apagat

  • Premeu el botó PODER button to turn the calibrator on.
  • Manteniu premut el botó PODER button to turn the calibrator off.

6.2 Selecting RTD Type

  • Premeu el botó TIPUS RTD button to cycle through the available RTD types (e.g., Pt10, Pt50, Pt100, Pt200, Pt500, Pt1000(385), Pt100(JIS)). The selected type will be displayed on the LCD.

6.3 Selecting Temperature Units

  • Premeu el botó ° C / ° F button to toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature units.

6.4 Input (Measurement) Mode

  1. Premeu el botó ENTRADA/SORTIDA button until "INPUT" is indicated on the display.
  2. Connect the RTD to be measured to the appropriate input jacks using the test leads.
  3. The calibrator will display the measured temperature or resistance value.

6.5 Output (Simulation) Mode

  1. Premeu el botó ENTRADA/SORTIDA button until "OUTPUT" is indicated on the display.
  2. Select the desired RTD type using the TIPUS RTD botó.
  3. Connect the device under test to the appropriate output jacks using the test leads.
  4. Utilitza el Fletxa amunt / avall buttons to adjust the desired temperature or resistance value.
  5. For quick adjustments, use the +25%, 100%, -25%, 0% buttons to set common percentage values of the full scale.

6.6 Simulating Additional RTDs (Ohms Output)

The calibrator can simulate additional RTD types by using its Ohms output function. Refer to the RTD resistance tables for the specific RTD type you wish to simulate and manually set the corresponding resistance value in Ohms output mode.

7. Manteniment

7.1 Neteja

Wipe the calibrator with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the device is powered off and disconnected before cleaning.

When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries as described in Section 5.1. Always use fresh batteries of the specified type.

If the calibrator fails to power on or function correctly, a fuse may need replacement.
