The device features a 4-inch IPS touch screen for interactive operation. On the right side of the screen, there are physical buttons for quick access to common functions:

4. Configuració

The MOT-31 comes with a built-in 3.7V 4000mAh lithium-ion battery. To charge the device:

  1. Connect the provided Type-C power cable to the charging interface on the device.

5.1. OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) Test

The OTDR function is used to measure fiber length, transmission attenuation, splice attenuation, and locate failures in fiber optic links. It supports dual wavelength testing (1310nm/1550nm).

  1. From the main menu, tap the 'OTDR' icon.
  2. Connect the fiber optic cable to the OTDR port.
  3. Select 'Auto OTDR Test' for automatic pulse width and measurement duration settings (test time is typically 5 seconds).
  4. Alternatively, you can manually set parameters such as wavelength (1310nm or 1550nm), pulse width, and range.
  5. Initiate the test. The device will display the OTDR trace, event list, and event map.
  6. The 'Event Map' provides an intelligent link analysis, automatically identifying connectors, welding points, and other events, making it easy to read and analyze.
  7. Test reports can be saved in SOR or PDF format.

5.2. Mesurador de potència òptica (OPM)

The OPM function measures the optical power of a fiber optic signal. It supports six wavelengths: 850nm, 1300nm, 1310nm, 1490nm, 1550nm, and 1625nm.

  1. From the main menu, tap the 'OPM' icon.
  2. Connect the measured fiber to the OPM port.

The VFL emits a strong red light to quickly locate faults in fiber optic cables by identifying light leakage points.

  1. From the main menu, tap the 'VFL' icon.
  2. Connect the fiber optic cable to the VFL port.
  3. Select the desired mode (Steady mode, Evacive 1Hz, Evacive 2Hz) and duration.
  4. The red light will be emitted, allowing visual inspection for breaks or bends in the fiber.
  5. ADVERTIMENT: Avoid looking directly at the laser source. Damage to the eyes, to avoid eye contact.

5.4. Laser Source (LS)

The Laser Source function provides a stable optical power output for various fiber optic applications. It supports wavelengths of 1310nm and 1550nm, with multiple modulation frequencies.

  1. From the main menu, tap the 'Laser Source' icon.
  2. Connect the fiber optic cable to the OTDR/LS port.
  3. Select the desired wavelength (1310nm or 1550nm) and mode (CW, 270Hz, 330Hz, 1000Hz, 2000Hz).

  1. From the main menu, tap the 'Cable Tester' or 'Cable Length' icon.
  2. Connect the RJ45 cable to the UTP/RJ45 Cable Test port. For length measurement, you may need to select the cable type (e.g., UTP CAT 5E).
  3. For RJ45 TDR test, the device can detect open, short, and breakpoint faults.
  4. The screen will display the wiring sequence, continuity status, or cable length.

5.6. Network Test Functions

The NF-983 (MOT-31) model includes advanced network testing capabilities:

  • Prova PING: Verifies network connectivity to a host.
  • Escaneig IP: Discovers active devices on a network.
  • Port intermitent: Helps identify network ports by flashing the link light.
  • LLDP (Link Layer Discovery Protocol): Discovers network topology and device information.
  • PPPOE (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet): Tests PPPOE connection status.

7. Manteniment
