3. Component Overview
The Onstep V5 Pro controller features various ports for connectivity and control:
- SHC Port: For connecting a hand controller.
- Port USB: For PC connection and data transfer.
- Port DC 12V: Power input for the controller.
- TRACKING LED: Indicates tracking status.

4. Configuració i instal·lació
4.1 Check Mount Type (EXOS2 / EQ5)
Before installation, identify your equatorial mount type. The installation surface differs between EXOS2 and EQ5 models:
- EXOS2 Model: The installation surface is flat. No gasket is required.
- EQ5 Model: The installation surface has two protrusions. If you have an EQ5 mount, you must install the provided gasket first to ensure a flat mounting surface.

4.2 Pre-install Synchronous Wheels
Install the synchronous wheels onto both the stepper motors and the equatorial mount shafts. Do not fully tighten the fixing screws at this stage; leave them slightly loose for easier adjustment during final assembly.

4.3 Install RA Motor Assembly
- Insert the synchronous wheels onto the RA motor assembly.
- Place the motor assembly onto the mount, ensuring the bracket sits tightly against the equatorial surface.
- Secure the bracket with the provided washers and hand nuts.
- Adjust the two synchronous wheels to align with a straight line.
- Pull the motor outward by hand to tension the synchronous belt.
- Use a wrench to tighten the synchronous wheel screw.
- Finally, use a screwdriver to tighten the fixing screws of the motor.

4.4 Install DEC Motor Assembly
- Insert the synchronous wheels onto the DEC motor assembly.
- Place the motor assembly onto the mount, ensuring the bracket sits tightly against the equatorial surface.
- Secure the bracket with the provided washers and hand nuts.
- Adjust the two synchronous wheels to align with a straight line.
- Pull the motor outward by hand to tension the synchronous belt.
- Use a wrench to tighten the synchronous wheel screw.
- Finally, use a screwdriver to tighten the fixing screws of the motor.

4.5 Connect Motors to Controller
Connect the RA and DEC stepper motors to their respective ports on the Onstep V5 Pro controller using the provided aviation cables. Ensure connections are secure.

4.6 Mount the Control Box
The control box can be mounted to your telescope setup using a magic tape strap or directly onto the dovetail groove of the guiding mirror, as shown in the diagram.
