5. Configuració i instal·lació

5.1 Inspecció inicial

Upon receiving your battery, inspect it for any visible damage. If damage is found, contact customer support immediately. Verify that all package contents are present.

5.2 Muntatge

The LiFePO4 battery can be safely mounted in any position due to its sealed design and lack of liquid acid. Ensure the mounting location is secure, well-ventilated, and protected from extreme temperatures, moisture, and direct sunlight.

5.3 Series and Parallel Connections

This battery supports both series and parallel connections to meet various power requirements. Always ensure all batteries are at the same State of Charge (SOC) before connecting them in series or parallel.

5.3.1 Parallel Connection:

  • Connect the positive terminals of all batteries together.
  • Connect the negative terminals of all batteries together.
  • Parallel connections are not limited, allowing for increased capacity (Ah) while maintaining a 12V system.
  • Ensure all connecting cables are of appropriate gauge for the expected current.

5.3.2 Series Connection:

  • Connect the positive terminal of one battery to the negative terminal of the next battery.
  • Up to 4 batteries can be connected in series to achieve a 48V system.
  • Ensure all connecting cables are of appropriate gauge for the expected current.
  • When connecting in series, the total voltage increases (e.g., 2 batteries = 24V, 3 batteries = 36V, 4 batteries = 48V). The capacity (Ah) remains the same as a single battery.

6. Funcionament

6.1 Càrrega de la bateria

The MOSEWORTH LiFePO4 battery can be charged using a compatible LiFePO4 battery charger, solar panels, or an AC-DC generator charger. Ensure the charging voltage and current are within the specified limits (Max Protection Voltage: 14.6V, Max Charge Current: 0.5C / 70A).

6.1.1 Dedicated LiFePO4 Battery Charger:

  • Connect the charger to the battery terminals (positive to positive, negative to negative).

6.1.2 Solar Panel Charging:

  • Connect solar panels (minimum 400W recommended) to a compatible solar charge controller.

  • Charging time will vary based on solar intensity and panel wattage (approximately 1 sunny day for full charge with adequate solar input).

6.1.3 Generator AC-DC Charger:

  • Connect the AC-DC charger from your generator to the battery terminals.
  • Ensure the generator output and charger are compatible with LiFePO4 battery charging specifications.
  • A 14.6V 60A charger can fully charge the battery in approximately 2.3 hours.

Important: The BMS will initiate a low-temperature cut-off, preventing charging when the battery temperature is below 0°C (32°F). Charging recovery will occur when the temperature rises above 5°C (41°F).

6.2 Discharging the Battery

  • Connect your load to the battery terminals, ensuring correct polarity.
  • The maximum continuous discharge current is 1C (140A). The instantaneous discharge current is 2C (280A). Do not exceed these limits.
  • The BMS will protect the battery by stopping discharge if the voltage drops to 10V (End Voltage) or if the temperature falls below -20°C (-4°F).

7. Manteniment

  • Inspecció periòdica: Periodically check the battery terminals for corrosion or loose connections. Clean terminals with a wire brush if necessary and ensure they are tightened securely.
  • Neteja: Keep the battery surface clean and dry. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe away dust or dirt. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.
