5.1. Choose the Suitable Wheel Size

Before installation, ensure you have the correct wheel size for your bicycle. Refer to the markings on your tire to determine the size.

5.2. Rear Dropout Compatibility

The motor is designed for a rear dropout size of 135-145mm. Measure your bike's rear dropout to ensure compatibility.

5.3. Brake System Selection

The kit offers two brake options: a brake lever with integrated motor cutoff or a brake sensor that attaches to your existing brake levers.

  1. Connect the Brake Lever or Brake Sensor (1) to the main harness.
  2. Attach the Thumb Throttle (2) to the main harness.
  3. Connect the Display (3) to the main harness.
  4. Connect the 1T4 Cable (4) to the main harness.
  5. Connect the Headlight (5) to the main harness.
  6. Connect the Controller & Box (6) to the main harness and the Hub Motor (8).
  7. Install the PAS Sensor (7) and connect it to the controller.
  8. Connect your 48V Battery (9) to the controller.

6.2. Quick-Switch Speed Mode

For legal compliance in certain regions, the EKD01 and VD04 displays offer a quick-switch to 25 km/h street-legal mode. This can typically be activated by holding the "+" and "-" buttons together on the display.
