Before starting any detection work, perform a quick check:
- Turn on both the Transmitter and Receiver using their respective power buttons.
- Verify that the LCD screens illuminate and display information correctly.
- Check for any error messages or unusual behavior. If any issues are observed, refer to the Troubleshooting section.
6. Instruccions de funcionament
The MS6818 operates by having the Transmitter inject a signal into the target line, which is then detected by the Receiver. The Receiver's display and audible alerts guide you to the signal source.
6.1. Passos generals d'operació
- Connecteu el transmissor: Connect the Transmitter to the circuit or cable you wish to trace using the provided test leads, test clips, or testing pen. Ensure a secure connection. For non-energized lines, a grounding stake may be used.
- Encès: Turn on both the Transmitter and Receiver.
- Select Mode (Receiver): Use the 'MANUAL' button on the Receiver to switch between Manual and Automatic detection modes. In Automatic mode, the device adjusts sensitivity automatically. In Manual mode, you can fine-tune sensitivity using the 'LEVEL' buttons.
- Start Transmission (Transmitter): Press the 'START/STOP' button on the Transmitter to begin sending the signal.
- Trace with Receiver: Move the Receiver's probe head along the suspected path of the cable or pipe. The signal strength indicator (bars and rings) on the LCD, along with audible 'di di' sounds, will increase as you get closer to the signal source.
- Ajustar la sensibilitat: If the signal is too strong or too weak, adjust the Receiver's sensitivity using the 'LEVEL' buttons. More rings on the display indicate higher sensitivity.
- Interpretació de la pantalla: The Receiver's display will show signal strength, received encoding, and other relevant information to help pinpoint the location or fault.
- Apagar: After use, turn off both units to conserve battery life. The device also features automatic shutdown.
6.2. Specific Detection Functions
6.2.1. Hidden Wire Fault Detection (Walls, Floors, Underground)
This function allows you to detect the route, breaks, and short circuits of lines buried in walls, under floors, or underground.
6.2.2. Cerca Fuses / Sockets
The Receiver can be used to locate fuses, insurance circuits, concealed sockets, and distribution boxes by tracing the signal emitted by the Transmitter.
6.2.3. AC/DC Voltage Test (12V~400V)
The Transmitter can perform AC/DC voltage tests within the range of 12V to 400V. Connect the test leads to the appropriate points to measure voltage.
6.2.4. NCV Non-Contact Sensing Function
For safer high-voltage electrical testing, the Receiver features an NCV function. Press the 'UAC' button to activate this mode, allowing detection of live wires without direct contact.
6.2.5. Dual-Mode Detection (Manual + Automatic)
The Receiver offers both manual and automatic detection modes. In automatic mode, the device intelligently adjusts sensitivity. In manual mode, you have precise control over sensitivity, which can be useful in complex environments to filter out interference.
6.2.6. Mode silenciós
In situations where noise might be disruptive, such as in hospitals or quiet offices, activate the silent mode. The detection operation can still be monitored visually through the simulation bars on the display.
6.2.7. Altres funcions
The MS6818 also includes:
- Llanterna: Per il·luminar zones de treball fosques.
- Automatic Frequency Scanning: Helps in identifying the optimal frequency for tracing.
- 8 Types of Emission Rate Encoding: Allows for classification or determination of laid lines, with the receiver displaying the transmitter's status.
7. Manteniment
- Neteja: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the casing o components interns.
- Emmagatzematge: When not in use, store the MS6818 in its provided carry bag in a dry, cool, and dust-free environment, away from direct sunlight and corrosive gases.
- Substitució de la bateria: Replace batteries promptly when the low battery indicator appears on the display to ensure accurate readings and prevent device malfunction. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
- Inspecció periòdica: Periodically inspect the test leads, clips, and probes for any signs of wear, cuts, or damage. Replace damaged accessories immediately.
8. Solució De Problemes
| Problema | Causa possible | Solució |
|---|---|---|
| No power to unit(s) | Piles gastades o instal·lades incorrectament. | Comproveu la polaritat de la bateria i substituïu-la per piles noves. |
| No signal detected by Receiver | El transmissor no està encès, no transmet o està connectat incorrectament. La sensibilitat del receptor és massa baixa. | Ensure Transmitter is on and transmitting. Check all connections. Increase Receiver sensitivity. |
| Inaccurate or erratic readings | Interference from other electrical sources. Receiver sensitivity too high. Poor connection. | Reduce Receiver sensitivity. Ensure good contact for connections. Try to minimize other electrical activity nearby. |
| Low battery indicator on display | Les piles s'estan quedant baixes. | Replace batteries in the respective unit (Transmitter or Receiver). |
9. Consells d'usuari
- Start Low, Go High: When tracing, begin with the Receiver's sensitivity set to a lower level and gradually increase it until a clear signal is detected. This helps to avoid picking up extraneous signals.
- Direct Connection for Best Results: For the most accurate fault detection, always try to establish a direct connection between the Transmitter and the cable/circuit you are testing.
- Compte amb el medi ambient: Be aware of other electrical devices or metal structures in the vicinity that might cause interference. Adjust sensitivity or try different angles if readings are inconsistent.
- Use Silent Mode Wisely: The silent mode is excellent for professional environments where audible signals might be distracting. Rely on the visual signal strength indicators on the LCD.
- La pràctica fa la perfecció: Like any precision tool, familiarity with the MS6818's behavior in different scenarios will improve your accuracy and efficiency.
