1. Informació de seguretat

This manual provides all safety information, operation instruction, specifications and maintenance for the ANENG ST180 Digital Clamp Meter, which is compact, handheld, and battery operated.

6. Control Button Description

6.1. HOLD AND LCD BACKLIT BUTTON (H/*)

  • When you press this button briefly, the LCD will show the last reading, and "H" symbol will appear until pushed again. Data holding will be cancelled automatically when the function switch is rotated.
  • When you hold this button down for about 2 seconds, the LCD will be backlit and lighting remains about 15 seconds before automatically turning off.

6.2. Manual Range Selection (REL)

  • Press this key briefly for manual range selection.

6.3. Function Select Button (SET)

  • This key is used to switch between sub-functions (e.g., continuity/diode, AC/DC voltage switching).

7. Instrucció de funcionament

7.1. AC/DC Voltage Mesura

  1. Connect the BLACK test lead to the COM jack and the RED to the V/Ω jack.
  2. Ajusteu el selector de funció a la posició ACV o DCV i connecteu els cables de prova a la font o càrrega que es mesura.
  3. Read the LCD display. The polarity of the RED test lead will be indicated when making a DC measurement.

7.2. Mesura de Resistències

  1. Connect the BLACK test lead to the COM jack and the RED to the V/Ω jack. (NOTE: The polarity of the RED lead is positive "+", and the BLACK is negative "-").
  2. Set the function switch at Ω position, and then push "SEL" button to select Mode, then the symbol "Ω" is shown on LCD.
  3. Connect test leads across the resistance under measurement, and then get the test readings on LCD.

NOTA:

  • For resistance above 2 MΩ or 4 MΩ, the meter may take a few seconds to stabilize reading. This is normal for high resistance measuring.
  • When the input is not connected, i.e. at open circuit, the figure "OL" will be displayed under over-range condition.

7.3. Mesura de corrent alterna

  1. Set Function/Range Switch to the AC range (A~).

Important: AC current measurement can only measure the zero line or fire line, and only a core line. The common electrical appliances in the home power supply line are not measured because it contains a number of core wires.

7.4. Audible Continuity / Diode Test

  1. Connect the BLACK test lead to the COM jack and the RED to the V/Ω jack.

  3. In continuity test, if the circuit resistance under test is lower than 50Ω, the built-in buzzer will sound.

7.5. Prova de freqüència

  1. Connect the BLACK test lead to the COM jack and the RED test lead to the V/Hz jack.
  2. Put the range selector at "Hz" position, and connect the test leads across the resistance under measurement.

Nota:

  • When testing high frequency (> 1MHz), the input voltage must be less than 10V for getting the accurate value.

7.6. Mesura de la capacitat

  1. Connect the BLACK test lead to the COM jack and the RED test lead to the V/Ω jack. (Note: The polarity of the RED test lead is "+")
  2. Put the range selector at position, and connect the test leads across the Capacitor under measurement. Disconnect the capacitor from the outer power source.
  3. Check if the "F" mark is on the LCD. If not, push the "SET" button one or more times until shown.
  4. Take the reading from LCD. When testing a large capacitor, it's normal to take more time for getting the values on LCD.

NOTA:

  • Make sure to discharge all the capacitor's electricity completely before measurements.

7.7. Mesura de la temperatura

  1. Col·loqueu el selector de rang de funcions a la posició °C.
  2. Make sure the polarity of the thermocouple is correct. Put the Black pin terminal of the K-type thermocouple sensor into the COM jack and the RED pin terminal into the V/Ω/°C jack.

  4. The value of the temperature is shown on the display in degree Celsius (°C).

NOTA:

  • La temperatura de prova es mostra automàticament quan el sensor del termopar es col·loca als forats de prova.

  • The limit temperature measured by the thermocouple given together with the instrument is 250°C/482°F; 300°C/572°F is acceptable within a short period.

7.8. Vol. AC sense contactetage Detecció (NCV)

  1. Set the function range switch at the NCV position. Then the NCV indicating LED light will flash.

NOTA:

  • Do not try to contact the testing place with this tester. No display on LCD at this range.

7.9. Zero Fire Detection (Live Detection)

  1. Set the function switch to the Live Detection mode (often indicated by a lightning bolt symbol or 'Live').
  2. Insert the red test lead into the live wire or socket.
  3. If the screen displays "EF" and emits a beep with a red LED flash, it indicates a live wire (firewire).
  4. If the screen displays "EF" with no beep, it indicates a neutral line.

7.10. Flashlight Lighting

The meter is equipped with an LED flashlight to illuminate dark work areas, eliminating the risk of electric shock in low-light conditions. Long press the H/* button to activate the flashlight.

If the sign "" appears on the display, it indicates the battery should be replaced. Remove screws and open the back case, replace the exhausted batteries with new ones (AAA 1.5V *2pc or equivalent).

  • Always ensure the meter is set to the correct function and range before making any measurements to prevent damage to the device or personal injury.
  • For AC current measurements, always clamp around a single conductor, not an entire cable with multiple wires, to get an accurate reading.
