4. Configuració i instal·lació
Follow these steps to install your ASRock STEEL LEGEND 1000W Power Supply:
- Prepareu el vostre sistema: Assegureu-vos que l'ordinador estigui completament apagat i desendollat de la presa de corrent. Obriu la carcassa de l'ordinador.
- Traieu la font d'alimentació antiga (si escau): Desconnecteu tots els cables de la font d'alimentació antiga i traieu-la de la carcassa.
- Muntar la nova font d'alimentació: Carefully place the ASRock STEEL LEGEND 1000W into the PSU mounting bay of your computer case. Secure it with the provided screws. Ensure the fan is facing the correct direction for optimal airflow (usually facing down if there's a bottom vent, or up if not).
- Connect Modular Cables to PSU: Identify the necessary cables for your components (motherboard, CPU, graphics card(s), SATA devices, etc.). Connect these cables to the corresponding modular ports on the power supply. Refer to the diagram below for port identification.

5. Instruccions de funcionament
Once the power supply is installed and all components are connected:
- Connecteu l'alimentació de CA: Plug the AC power cord into the power supply's inlet and then into a wall outlet.
- Power On the PSU: Locate the main power switch on the rear of the power supply and flip it to the 'ON' (I) position.

iCOOL Mode
The ASRock STEEL LEGEND 1000W features an iCOOL MODE switch on the rear panel. This mode allows the fan speed to automatically adjust based on the power supply's temperature and load. When activated, the fan operates almost silently at low loads and increases speed for effective cooling under high loads. To enable or disable iCOOL MODE, toggle the switch next to the main power switch (refer to Figure 5.1).
6. Manteniment
- Neteja: Periodically clean the exterior of the power supply and its fan grille to prevent dust buildup. Use a soft, dry cloth or compressed air. Ensure the power supply is turned off and unplugged before cleaning.
- Flux d'aire: Ensure that the power supply's intake and exhaust vents are not obstructed. Good airflow is crucial for efficient cooling and longevity.
- No desmunteu: Never attempt to open the power supply unit. High voltages are present inside, even when unplugged, and doing so will void your warranty.
7. Solució De Problemes
If you encounter issues with your power supply, try the following steps:
- Sense energia:
- Comproveu si el cable d'alimentació de CA està ben connectat tant a la font d'alimentació com a la presa de corrent.
- Ensure the main power switch on the PSU's rear panel is in the 'ON' (I) position.
- Verifiqueu que la presa de corrent funciona connectant-hi un altre dispositiu.
- Comproveu totes les connexions dels cables modulars per assegurar-vos que estiguin ben connectades tant a la font d'alimentació com als components.
- El sistema s'apaga inesperadament:
- The power supply's built-in protection mechanisms (OCP, OVP, OTP, OPP, UVP, SCP) may have activated due to an overload, overvoltage, overheating, or short circuit.
- Ensure your system's power consumption does not exceed the PSU's capacity.
- Check for proper ventilation around the PSU and inside the case to prevent overheating.
- Disconnect non-essential peripherals to see if the issue persists.
- Fan Not Spinning (iCOOL Mode): If iCOOL Mode is enabled, the fan may not spin at low loads to maintain silent operation. This is normal. The fan will activate as the load and temperature increase. If the fan never spins even under heavy load, ensure iCOOL Mode is enabled or try disabling it to force the fan on.
