1. Introducció

This manual provides instructions for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your NL-770S VHF/UHF Mobile Radio Antenna. Designed for compatibility with radios like the HIROYASU IC-980Pro, this antenna offers dual-band functionality for 144MHz and 430MHz frequencies, featuring a magnetic mount for easy vehicle attachment.

4. Configuració i instal·lació

1. Trieu una ubicació de muntatge: Select a flat, metallic surface on your vehicle (e.g., roof, trunk lid) that is free from obstructions and provides a good ground plane. Ensure the surface is clean and dry for optimal magnetic adhesion.

2. Fixeu el suport magnètic: Place the magnetic mount base firmly onto the chosen metallic surface. The strong magnet will secure it in place. Ensure no debris is trapped between the magnet and the vehicle surface to prevent scratches.
3. Muntar l'antena: Screw the NL-770S antenna rod onto the connector on the magnetic mount base. Hand-tighten until secure, but do not overtighten.

4. Encamina el cable coaxial: Carefully route the 5-meter RG-58 coaxial cable from the magnetic mount into your vehicle, avoiding sharp edges, pinch points, or areas where it could be damaged by doors or windows. Ensure the cable does not interfere with vehicle operation.
5. Connecta't a la ràdio: Connect the SMA female connector of the coaxial cable to the antenna input port on your mobile radio. If your radio requires a different connector type, use an appropriate adapter (not always included).

5. Instruccions de funcionament

Once the antenna is securely mounted and connected to your mobile radio:

1. Power On Your Radio: Turn on your mobile radio according to its manufacturer's instructions.
2. Seleccioneu la banda de freqüència: The NL-770S is a dual-band antenna. Ensure your radio is set to the desired VHF (144MHz band) or UHF (430MHz band) frequency.
3. Perform SWR Check (Recommended): For optimal performance and to prevent damage to your radio, it is highly recommended to perform a Standing Wave Ratio (SWR) check using an SWR meter. The VSWR should be less than 1.5.
4. Transmissió i recepció: You can now use your mobile radio for communication. Adjust your radio's settings (e.g., squelch, volume) as needed for clear reception.

Caution: Do not transmit without an antenna connected to your radio, as this can cause damage to the radio's final ampmés viutage.

• Inspecció periòdica: Periodically check the antenna rod, coaxial cable, and magnetic mount for any signs of wear, damage, or corrosion.

  • Verify the antenna is compatible with the radio's frequency band.
  • Perform an SWR check to ensure proper tuning.
• Antenna Not Sticking Firmly:
  • Clean the magnetic mount base and the vehicle surface thoroughly.
  • Ensure the mounting surface is flat and metallic.
• Sense transmissió/recepció:
  • Confirm the coaxial cable is correctly connected to both the antenna and the radio.
  • Check the radio's power and antenna settings.

• For best performance, mount the antenna as high as possible on your vehicle, ideally in the center of the roof, to maximize the ground plane effect.
• Always ensure the magnetic mount is firmly attached before driving, especially at high speeds.
• Consider using a cable protector where the coaxial cable enters the vehicle to prevent wear and tear.
