5.3. DIP Switch Explained:

The DIP switches are used to configure the interface for different screen sizes and car models. Refer to the table below and the image for correct settings.

NOTE: When changing the DIP code, you need to keep the car powered on, otherwise the change will be invalid!

5.4. How to Find the Gateway Location and Gateway Connection:

The gateway is a crucial connection point. Its location varies by Audi model.

Steps for Gateway Connection:

  1. Locate the gateway based on your car model (refer to Figure 5.3).
  2. Unplug the original connector from the car's gateway.
  3. Insert the provided new power cable harness into the car's gateway plug.
  4. Plug the original connector into the new harness's gateway port.

5.5. LVDS Cables Connection:

Correct LVDS connection is critical for display functionality.

  1. New LVDS Cable "LVDS IN": Insert into the CD host unit.
  2. New LVDS Cable "LVDS OUT": Connect to the Original LVDS (unplugged from CD host unit).

Note: Wrong LVDS connections will cause a black screen or prevent switching to the CarPlay interface.

5.6. Where to Put the CarPlay Box:

The decoder box should be installed in an appropriate space, near or on the OEM head unit, or in the glove box.

⚠️ Do Not Approach the Metal: The WiFi antenna cannot be placed close to metal objects. The WiFi signal will be lost if the antenna is too close to metal.

5.7. Aftermarket Reverse Camera Wiring Connections and Settings:

  1. Connect the reverse camera to the plug labeled 'Rear Camera'.
  2. Connect the cable labeled 'Rear Cam 12V OUT (red)' to the camera power.
  3. In settings: Go to Reverse → Reverse camera → Aftermarket.

  1. Connect the reverse camera to the plug labeled 'Rear Camera'.
  2. Connect the cable labeled 'Rear Cam 12V OUT (red)' to the camera power.
  3. Connect the reversing detection line (labeled 'Back(green)') to the car taillight 12V power supply.
  4. In settings: Go to Reverse → Aftermarket, and set the Reversing mode to "12V Active".

6.2. CarPlay Decoder Sound Setup:

There are two methods to set up the sound for the CarPlay decoder.

Method 1: Via AUX

If using AUX, you need to set "AUX" as the audio source for CarPlay sound.

  1. Select the audio source of the original car media to AUX, then select "External audio input".
  2. Set AMI (only for Audi cars with AMI function):
    a. Connect to your car's AMI port. Note that the other end of the AMI line does not need to be connected.
    b. If your car has an AMI port, after connecting the AMI cable to your car's AMI port, you need to set the "Media" into "AMI".

Method 2: Via Bluetooth

By adjusting the settings, the module can also work via Bluetooth if you do not want to utilize Aux.

  1. Canvia la configuració del so:
    a. Access the Settings interface → Factory Mode.
    b. In Factory Mode, go to Phone Link setting.
    c. Open the option "Disable phone link audio".
    d. Reboot the system.
  2. Then pair your smartphone with the original vehicle's Bluetooth.
  3. Select "Your phone's Bluetooth" for media sources (both phone and music) in the original car's settings.

6.3. Wireless CarPlay Connection:

  1. Open the iPhone's WiFi.
  2. Open the iPhone's Bluetooth.
  3. Cerca the Bluetooth of the CarPlay decoder (e.g., "ZTUZAUTO Box_e62c").
  4. Vincular el Bluetooth.
  5. Allow the sync.
  6. Use CarPlay.
  7. After successful connection, it will automatically enter CarPlay.

6.4. Wired CarPlay Connection:

Simply plug and play.

6.5. Wireless Android Auto Connection:

  1. Click the "Bluetooth" icon in our menu interface.
  2. Enter the phone's settings and turn on Bluetooth.
  3. Cerca our Bluetooth (e.g., "ZTUZAUTO Box_e62c"), click to connect.
  4. Allow the Bluetooth pairing request.
  5. Automatically switch to Android Auto after a successful connection.

6.6. Wired Android Auto Connection:

Simply plug and play.

6.7. Wireless Apple Mirroring Connection:

Please Disconnect the CarPlay Connection Before Using AirPlay.

  1. Disconnect the CarPlay connection before using AirPlay.
  2. Click the "Mirroring" icon in the system menu interface.
  3. Allow "Turn on WLAN to Use Wireless CarPlay" on your iPhone.
  4. The iPhone slides to the taskbar to find Screen Mirroring.
  5. Click "Mirroring" to connect.
  6. Automatically switch to Mirroring interface after a successful connection.

6.8. Wireless Android Mirroring Connection:

If you don't know how to download the APK "Mirroring", please scan the QR code (not provided in allowed URLs) to install it.

  1. Enter our module's menu interface.
  2. Click the "Mirroring" icon. Choose "Android".
  3. Connect the Bluetooth of the Android phone to the Bluetooth of the module.
  4. Turn on the phone's hotspot, follow the prompts in the lower left corner of the screen to change your phone's hotspot name and password.
  5. Then change the Hotspot frequency selection to be 5.0GHz.
  6. Install the apk "MLink" into your Android phone, then click "Use it immediately".

New Android phones with built-in screen projection function do not need to be installed. You can use it by directly connecting the Bluetooth module and hotspot.

6.9. Modify CarPlay Icon and Boot LOGO Process:

Before upgrading, please contact customer service to provide the logo replacement file corresponding to the original car resolution.

You need to prepare a USB drive before upgrading.

  1. Còpia files a la unitat USB.
  2. Open `msn_factory_configs`.
  3. Copy the created 120*120 PNG format image to `msn_factory_configs` and change the name to `carplay_120x120`.
  4. Open the `FactoryConfig` file with Notepad.
  5. Modify `HomeIconLabel="ZTUZAUTO"` and mark it in red within the quotation marks, then save it.
  6. Open the `bootlogo` with Paint.
  7. Replace the created image in 800*480 PNG format into `bootlogo` and save it.
  8. Connect the USB flash drive to the decoder. The USB will automatically complete the upgrade.

⚠️ Modify PNG image size according to your car screen resolution.

6.10. CarPlay Upgrade Steps:

1. Software replication steps, prepare before upgrading:

  1. Prepare a USB flash drive with less than 16GB Memory.
  2. Format the USB flash drive as FAT32.
  3. Copy the software to the USB flash drive.
  4. Unzip to the current folder, the decompressed software.
  5. The decompressed software, including 13 sub-files and a folder, needs to be placed in the root directory of the USB flash drive.

2. Upgrade specification process:

  1. Enter the installation interface.
  2. Insert the USB flash drive with the software. The system will enter the following interface without any operation. After waiting for 5 seconds, the system will automatically update the configuration file.
  3. Then wait for the system to enter the following interface (3 successes, 0 failures); click OK to restart the system, and the system will automatically enter the software upgrade.
  4. The system will automatically enter the software upgrade. The interface prompt is shown in the figure below. This upgrade step will wait for about 90 seconds. Do not do anything until the system restarts.
  5. Automatically restart after the system update is completed. Do not pull out the USB flash drive and wait for the system to upgrade configuration.
  6. Wait for the system to upgrade configuration. Note: First unplug the software USB flash drive and then select 'OK' at this time, the system restarts.

7. Resolució de problemes (FAQ)

7.1. What Needs to be Paid Attention to During Installation?

  1. Make sure that the CarPlay box is compatible with the model that is installed and that the box's label corresponds with the model of the vehicle.
  2. Power off during installation.
  3. It is advisable to lock the car for a few minutes after installation is finished, wait until the running test indicates that all operations are normal, and then restore the vehicle.

7.2. The screen shows "no Signal," "Black Screen," "Abnormal Screen," or "No Response" when you switch to CarPlay?

  1. Verify that the wiring is linked in accordance with the wiring schematic, especially for LVDS. The correct LVDS connection requires the host, not the transfer screen.
  2. You should unplug it and check to see if the pins on the LCD cable ports are bent or not in contact if the wiring connection appears normal but the display is not.
  3. Verify that the DIP switch code is correct for your screen size, and keep the power on when changing the DIP code.
  4. If all connections and DIP codes are correct, but the screen still cannot display normally, please contact us freely.

7.3. How to activate the original AUX of Audi A6L from 2010 to 2012?

You can scan the QR code (not provided in allowed URLs) to watch the video tutorial or picture tutorial.

7.4. If you think that the Aux's sound quality is too subpar?

You can use the second sound setting to make the sound quality even better.

  1. Access the Settings interface → Factory Mode → Phone Link setting → Open the option "Disable phone link audio" → Reboot.
  2. Then pair your smartphone with the original vehicle's Bluetooth.
  3. Select "Your phone Bluetooth" for phone calls and music sound sources in the original car media settings.
