Introducció

The Superlux PS418D is a versatile pre-amplifier designed for use with condenser miniature microphones. Configuració

Before operating the PS418D, ensure all connections are secure and the power source is correctly selected.

  1. Selecció de la font d'alimentació: The PS418D can be powered by either phantom power (9-52VDC) from a mixer or audio interface, or by a 1.5V AA/UM3 battery.
    • For phantom power, connect the XLR output of the PS418D to a device providing phantom power.
    • For battery power, open the battery compartment and insert one 1.5V AA/UM3 battery, ensuring correct polarity.
  2. Connexió del micròfon: Connect your condenser miniature microphone to the TA3F input connector on the PS418D.

  3. Connexió de sortida: Connect the XLR3M output of the PS418D to your mixer, audio interface, or recording device.

Instruccions de funcionament

The PS418D features a power switch and a low-cut filter switch for optimal audio control.

  1. Encès/apagat: Locate the power switch on the side of the unit. Slide the switch to the "ON" position to power the pre-amplifier. Slide to "OFF" when not in use to conserve battery life.

  2. Filtre de tall baix: The PS418D includes a switchable low-cut filter. This filter helps to reduce unwanted low-frequency noise, such as rumble or handling noise.
    • To engage the low-cut filter, slide the filter switch to the "ON" position.
    • To disengage the filter, slide the switch to the "OFF" position.
    • The filter operates at 80Hz with a 12dB/octave slope.

Manteniment

  • Neteja: Feu servir un drap suau i sec per netejar l'exterior de la unitat. No utilitzeu netejadors líquids ni dissolvents.
  • Substitució de la bateria: If using battery power, replace the 1.5V AA/UM3 battery when the unit's performance degrades or it fails to power on. Ensure correct polarity when inserting a new battery.
  • Emmagatzematge: Store the PS418D in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove the battery if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.

Resolució de problemes

  • Sense energia:
    • If using battery power, check if the battery is correctly inserted and has sufficient charge. Replace if necessary.
    • If using phantom power, ensure your mixer/interface is providing 9-52VDC phantom power and the XLR cable is functioning correctly.
    • Verify the power switch on the PS418D is in the "ON" position.
  • No Sound/Low Output:
    • Check all cable connections (microphone to TA3F, XLR3M to mixer/interface) for secure fit.
    • Ensure the microphone itself is functioning correctly.
    • Verify the input gain settings on your mixer/interface.
  • Excessive Low-Frequency Noise:
    • Engage the low-cut filter switch to reduce rumble or handling noise.
    • Ensure the microphone is positioned correctly to minimize environmental low-frequency interference.
