Configuració
1. Instal·lació de la bateria
The Mastech MS8230B requires a 9V battery (not included). To install or replace the battery:

2. Connexió dels cables de prova
Connect the red and black test leads to the appropriate input jacks:
- Introduïu el cable de prova negre al "COM" Jack (comú).
- Per a la majoria de mesures (voltage, resistance, diode, current up to 200mA), insert the red test lead into the "VΩmA" jack.
- For high current measurements (up to 10A DC), insert the red test lead into the "10ADC" jack.
Instruccions de funcionament
Before taking any measurement, ensure the test leads are correctly connected and the function switch is set to the desired measurement type and range.
1. Encès / apagat
- To turn on the multimeter, rotate the function switch from the "OFF" position to any desired measurement function.
- To turn off the multimeter, rotate the function switch back to the "OFF" position.

- Connect the black lead to "COM" and the red lead to "VΩmA".

- Set the function switch to the desired DC Current range (e.g., 200µA, 2mA, 20mA, 200mA, 10A).
- Open the circuit where the current is to be measured and connect the test probes in series with the circuit.

5. Mesura de la resistència (Ω)
Precaució: Ensure the circuit or component under test is completely de-energized before measuring resistance.
- Connect the black lead to "COM" and the red lead to "VΩmA".
- Set the function switch to the desired Resistance range (e.g., 200Ω, 2kΩ, 20kΩ, 200kΩ, 2MΩ).

6. Prova de díodes (→|→)
- Connect the black lead to "COM" and the red lead to "VΩmA".
- Set the function switch to the Diode Test position.

- Reverse the probes. The display should show "OL" (Overload) for a good diode.
7. Transistor (hFE) Test
- Set the function switch to the "hFE" position.
- Identify if the transistor is NPN or PNP.
- Insert the transistor leads (Emitter, Base, Collector) into the corresponding holes in the "hFE" socket, ensuring correct NPN/PNP orientation.
- The display will show the approximate hFE (DC current gain) value of the transistor.
Manteniment
1. Neteja
Netegeu el cas amb l'anunciamp drap i detergent suau. No utilitzeu abrasius ni dissolvents. Mantingueu els terminals d'entrada lliures de brutícia i humitat.
2. Substitució de la bateria
When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the 9V battery as described in the "Setup" section. Prompt battery replacement ensures accurate measurements.
3. Substitució de fusibles
The 200mA input is protected by a fuse. If the meter fails to measure current in the mA ranges, the fuse may need replacement. Refer to the specifications for the correct fuse type. Fuse replacement typically involves opening the back case of the multimeter, which should only be done by qualified personnel or with extreme care, ensuring the device is off and leads are disconnected.
4. Emmagatzematge
If the meter is not to be used for an extended period, remove the battery to prevent leakage and store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Resolució de problemes
- Sense pantalla o pantalla tènue: Comproveu la instal·lació de la bateria i substituïu-la si cal.
- "OL" (Overload) displayed: The measured value exceeds the selected range. Select a higher range or check for an open circuit.
- Lectures incorrectes: Ensure test leads are properly connected, the function switch is on the correct range, and the battery is not low. Clean input terminals if dirty.
