The Chicco KeyFit Infant Car Seat Base is designed for secure and accurate installation in your vehicle. This base is compatible with all Chicco KeyFit and KeyFit 30 infant car seats (sold separately).

Proper installation is crucial for the safety of your child. The KeyFit base offers two primary installation methods: using the vehicle's LATCH system or the vehicle's seat belt.

2.2. Adjusting the Recline Angle (ReclineSure Leveling Foot)

The ReclineSure leveling foot helps achieve the proper recline angle for your infant car seat base. This is essential for your child's safety and comfort.

2.3. LATCH Installation (SuperCinch Tightener)

The SuperCinch LATCH Tightener provides a secure installation with minimal effort.

3. Attach both LATCH connectors to the vehicle's lower anchors. Ensure they click securely into place.

5. Verify the installation by checking that the base does not move more than one inch side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path.

2.4. Vehicle Seat Belt Installation

For vehicles without LATCH anchors, or if preferred, use the vehicle's seat belt.

3. Operating the Car Seat Base

Once the base is securely installed, attaching and detaching the infant car seat is a simple process.

3.1. Attaching the Infant Car Seat

• For seat belt installation, ensure the vehicle's seat belt is fully tightened and the integrated lock-offs are engaged.
• Check that the base does not move more than one inch in any direction at the belt path.

5.3. Infant Car Seat Not Clicking into Base

• Ensure the infant car seat is correctly aligned with the base.
• Check for any obstructions between the car seat and the base.
• Apply firm, even pressure when lowering the car seat onto the base.
