4. Configuració

Follow these steps to properly set up your IOGEAR GCS1104 KVMP Switch:

2. Connect Console Devices:
   • Connect your DVI monitor to the DVI-I port labeled 'CONSOLE' on the rear of the KVMP switch.

   • Connect the DVI-D connector of the cable to the DVI output of your computer and the corresponding DVI-I port (CPU 1-4) on the rear of the KVMP switch.
   • Connect the USB Type-A connector of the cable to an available USB port on your computer and the corresponding USB Type-B port (CPU 1-4) on the rear of the KVMP switch.
   • Connect the audio and microphone jacks of the cable to the respective ports on your computer and the corresponding audio/mic jacks (CPU 1-4) on the rear of the KVMP switch.
   • Important: For initial setup, connect your keyboard and mouse directly to each computer's USB port first. Allow the operating system to load the necessary drivers. Once drivers are installed, disconnect them from the computer and connect them to the KVMP switch. This ensures proper recognition.
4. Connect USB 2.0 Peripherals: Connect any additional USB 2.0 peripherals (e.g., printer, scanner, external hard drive) to the two USB 2.0 Type-A ports on the front of the KVMP switch.
5. Aplicar potència: Connect the included power adapter to the DC 9V port on the rear of the KVMP switch, then plug it into a power outlet.
6. Encès: Power on your monitor, then power on the connected computers. The KVMP switch will automatically detect the active computer.

5. Operating the KVMP Switch

The IOGEAR GCS1104 offers multiple methods for switching between connected computers.

5.1. Front Panel Pushbutton Switching

Press the corresponding numbered button (1, 2, 3, or 4) on the front panel of the KVMP switch to instantly switch to the desired computer. The LED indicator above the button will illuminate to show the currently selected computer.

Hotkey combinations allow for quick switching directly from your keyboard. The default hotkey sequence is:

The two USB 2.0 ports on the front of the switch allow connected peripherals to be shared among all four computers. When you switch to a different computer, the USB peripherals connected to these ports will automatically switch to that computer.

5.4. Audio and Microphone Sharing

The KVMP switch supports 2.1 channel audio and microphone input. Audio and microphone connections will switch along with the KVM focus by default. Independent audio switching may be available via hotkey commands.

  • The KVMP switch uses DVI-D connectors, which are digital only. It does not support DVI-A (analog) or VGA without an active digital-to-analog converter. Ensure your connections are DVI-D compatible.
  • IOGEAR's DynaSync technology should prevent resolution issues, but if problems persist, try rebooting the affected computer while it is selected on the KVMP switch.
• No Audio or Microphone Functionality:
  • Verify all audio and microphone cables are correctly connected to the KVMP switch and the respective ports on your computers and console devices.
  • Check audio settings on your operating system to ensure the correct playback and recording devices are selected.
