Position the Wet Switch Flood Detector in areas prone to water leaks, such as HVAC drain pans, near water heaters, washing machines, or under sinks. The detector features integral feet that raise it slightly to prevent direct contact with the pan surface, which helps to avoid corrosion and ensures proper water wicking to the sensor.

3.2 Cablejat

The WS-1 operates on 24VAC and provides a set of dry contacts for integration into control circuits. Refer to the wiring diagram on the device (also shown in Figure 1) for connections:

• Power Input (24VAC): Connect the 24VAC power supply to the VERMELL i NEGRE cables.
• Control Contacts: El TARONJA, BLANC, i VERD wires provide the contact closure. These contacts are typically wired in series with the low-voltage control circuit of the equipment (e.g., HVAC unit, pump) to shut it down upon water detection. Consult the equipment's wiring diagram for proper integration.

Ensure all connections are secure and insulated according to electrical standards.

After installation and power-up, perform an initial test to verify proper operation:

1. Observe the "Power On" indicator light. It should be green, indicating the unit is receiving power.
2. Press and hold the "Push to Test" button. The "Moisture" indicator light should turn red, and the connected equipment should shut down or trigger an alarm, simulating a water detection event.
3. Release the "Push to Test" button. The "Moisture" light should turn off.
4. Press the "Push to Reset" button to restore the system to normal operation if it was shut down.

When the Wet Switch Flood Detector is powered and no water is detected, the "Power On" indicator light will be green. The control contacts remain in their normal state, allowing connected equipment to operate.

4.2 Water Detection

Upon contact with water, the hydrophilic pad quickly absorbs moisture, activating the sensor array. The "Moisture" indicator light will turn red, and the internal contacts will change state, typically shutting down the connected equipment to prevent further water damage.

5. Manteniment

The Wet Switch Flood Detector requires minimal maintenance. After a water detection event, follow these steps:

1. Address the source of the water leak and remove any standing water from the sensor area.
2. Ensure the hydrophilic pad on the detector is completely dry. You may gently wipe it with a dry cloth.
3. Once dry, press the "Push to Reset" button to clear the fault and restore the connected equipment to operation. The "Moisture" indicator light should turn off.

It is recommended to periodically test the unit (e.g., monthly or quarterly) using the "Push to Test" button to ensure it is functioning correctly.
